But in 6 starts this year against the Rockies, Webb was 1-3 with a 5.77 ERA--his highest ERA against any team in the league this year. Of those 6 games, 3 were played in Arizona--he went 0-2, with an ERA of 6.00.

Should be a great game.

Those D'backs fans are going to be real disappointed when they get to their seats only to find out that Curt Schilling isn't on the team anymore. But I've heard of this Brandon Webster guy. He's a good baseball pitcher, right?

Close. "Led the world in saves." God I hate Chip Caray. Tony Gwynn couldn't fit on a widescreen TV. Goodness gracious. He looks like he ate Terry Forster.

Kind of disappointing to see so many unoccupied seats in the BOB. Hopefully it's just because of the start time and the crowd files in by the 3rd inning.

The D-Backs were 28-17 against LHP as compared to 62-55 against RHP. Something to keep in mind with Francis and Morales in the Rockies rotation, especially after they took apart Lilly and Hill.

In case you haven't noticed, 6 of tonight's D-Backs starters, including Webb, were developed in-house. The only outsiders are Young, Ojeda and Byrnes. In fact, Reynolds, Drew and Upton are rookies as is Young, who they acquired from the White Sox as a minor leaguer.

I can't help but think that B.J. Upton is a little jealous of his younger brother. He's been in the league for a few years now, but Justin ended up playing playoff baseball before he does.

Empty seats at the Bob... Phoenix is an easy flight from San Diego... if the Red Sox were to play the D-Backs... I could probably talk the wife into attending a WS game!

For the record:
T. Gwynn could probably still hit his weight if there was a designated runner.

No need to get defensive -- just adding to the discussion. It just seemed odd that you'd make a statement about one farm system when their opponent has had at least as much success. FWIW, Colorado also has 3 other farm-raised starters in addition to the ones you noted: Helton, Francis & Holliday
