I thought it was interesting when Lowell smacked down the reporter during the post-game press conference for referring to CLE and NYY as "the Tribe and the Bronx Bombers"

Papelbon being interviewed in the locker room by Tina Cervasio, and neither of them are speaking coherently at this point. At least Paps has the excuse of being sloshed.

In what way did he smack it down? I haven't been able to see any of the footage yet.

Just in from celebrating with some fellow Sox fans at the bar at Bert's Cove in Plymouth. I love being in a bar when it erupts after a victory like today's!

Congrats to G38, Jose, and Sox fans everwhere. Onward.

THE RED SOX WIN!!!

It was that old, unintelligble reporter too that you can never understand. Who does that guy work for? I think channel 5 maybe?

Thanks, Gehrig 38!

Another great, gutsy, professional job on the mound.

In other words, ...the usual.

Was lucky enough to be at Angel Stadium for the game today - just wow. A bit of a nailbiter 'til they broke it open in the 8th, but Schilling looked great - I think he only threw like 20 balls out of 100 pitches (much to the chagrin of the very nice Angels fans around me). I think sometimes its easy to get caught up in the negativity during the down cycles in the regular season, but the Sox are a very good team. Too bad the Angels kicked all the fans out like 10 minutes after the game was over, it would've been cool to see something like they had at Fenway when they clinched the division. Not in their house, I guess.

The funniest thing about today was listening to all the Angels fans on talk radio on the ride back to Santa Monica - one fan thought the reason the Angels lost was because "the Rally Monkey didn't show up today". Good times (and the Rally Monkey actually did make an appearance on the scoreboard).

Good thing Jose now has a few days to get his keys together for Game 1.

A very efficient and workmanlike sweep by the Sox, vaguely reminiscent of a certain team that won a lot of series from 1996 to 2000. Kudos to the Angels for fighting as best they could despite being banged up. I'm sure we'll be seeing them play the Sox in a few more playoff series over the next 5 to 10 years.

Jose is intensely grateful for the extra days of rest.

He is tired. Really tired. But happy.

Tremendous game, and an outstanding performance from G38.

This was a dominating performance from the Sox, and while the Angels injuries mattered the bottom line is the Sox starting pitching dominated two games and the bullpen the third---that's a nice sign going forward.

I was at Angels stadium and want Schilling to pitch for my team. What a warrior.

I'd also like to call out every pantywaist who said that this team would lose in the first round.

Hey, I read through alot of this, funny as hell. Got to thinking and I posted my own game thread response in P&G. Take it in the same vein it was given, the same way you post during a game I was trying to respond with my game time mentality and thought process.
If you get offended, bite me..
Great stuff, and FYI Shonda happened to be reading when I was on ONE PAGE of this thread, and the post mentioned her, see if you can find it and figure out what I was laughing my ass off.

Does anyone know where to find the pitch distribution for the game graphically? I know people have posted for some games, and it's pretty cool to look at.
