Gagne on, BTW. Nice swinging K on a change for the first out.

Edit: Second out on a grounder to 2B, as is the third. 1-2-3.

Wow.

Good tune-up for Gagne - maybe like Drew, he's worked out his demons and kinks, and will be a force in the play-offs. Welcome aboard. Now get 2 more runs guys! CLose this out right.

Do tell. Looked like Glavine really crapped the bed. I can't imagine any excuse for the last 3 weeks that isn't basically that applied to the whole team, too.

A collapse almost as bad as the Phillies in '64. And the Brewers are giving the Padres fits. The Rockies could end up sliding in. That would bring a real old franchise/new franchise split to the postseason - only the Angels would be a mid-century club.

I was nervous all through Gagne's outing. It looked like he never had exactly the same delivery every pitch. But hey, he got the job done. Can't argue with results.

I can't imagine any AL team (except maybe the Yankees, who don't have great pitching anyway) would want to play three WS games in Colorado.

If they get there, it's very possible he could in the World Series. The NL continues to amaze me with its mediocrity.

Who's up for Washington with 2 outs in the 9th?

WMP. 0-3 today with 3 Ks.

Now 0-4 with 4 K's. Phils wil the NL East!

You're right - this would be a nightmare - plus, there is no way you could put Manny in the OF there - the ball reacts completely differently off the bat.

San Diego PBP guy: "The New York Mets finish up one of the biggest choke jobs in baseball history."

Brewers now lead SD 9-4 in the seventh. Rox and DBacks still tied at 0 in the 6th.

Jacoby agrees.

Edit: Doh!

Double Edit: Does that count as a "productive out?" If so, Jacoby should pay homage to Jeter, right?

It's a small sample size but Moss has certanly not been overmatched against ML pitching, .819 OPS in about 30 PA.

I think he should be the 4th OF next year.
