I don't even know who's pitching today. Pitch well, unknown starter, and win homefield advantage.

I think it's Daniel Bard.

Seriously though, wouldn't that be crazy? Dan Bard starting in the majors? He'd probably walk eighteen batters in a row!! Hahaha!!

Wake could pitch in his sleep with that knuckler.

Pitching with a hangover... didn't a former Red Sox pitcher (not with the Red Sox though) do that once?

:rolling:

WIN!!!

based on their need for at-bats, I'd imagine a few of our regulars will still play today.

My lineup guess is:

Ellsbury LF
Youkilis 3B
Manny DH
Drew RF
Coco CF
Hinske 1B
Clayton SS
Cora 2B
Mirabelli C

Not exactly Murderer's Row... but it might be Aggravated Assulter's Row

Good times. I woke up this morning and had to pinch myself; the Rivera blown save seems like a strange dream. Strange but nice

P.S. Keep on winning, guys, okay?

It is only going to get better this year.

Wake goes for W #17 tonight... that's right 17.

7. Jacoby Ellbsury, LF
8. Doug Mirabelli, C

I'm stunned that Cora isn't playing both second and short and hitting cleanup. STUNNED.

Red Sox Line-up
1. Coco Crisp, CF
2. Alex Cora, 2B
3. Manny Ramirez, DH
4. Mike Lowell, 3B
5. J.D. Drew, RF
6. Kevin Youkilis, 1B
7. Jacoby Ellbsury, LF
8. Doug Mirabelli, C
9. Royce Clayton, SS
--Tim Wakefield, SP

This strikes me as a very sensible line-up. Lugo, Papi and Pedroia need rest. Youks and Manny need live pitching. Wake needs Belli. Coco needs to get his sea legs under him again.

It seems like a reasonable balance between getting the rest players need and trying to win HFA.

I'm surprised Lowell is in the lineup, but obviously not a big deal. I suppose the Sox also would like lock up homefield for sure, too, for a hypothetical Indians matchup.

They're preparing to trade Hansack for Santana, straight up, as soon as the World Series ends. They don't want to risk an injury that might foul up the deal. Of course, I think it's a mistake to let go of young cost controlled pitching, no matter who you're getting back. You simply do not trade any of your top 25 pitching prospects, ever.

I'm hoping someone will post video of Youks & Paps 'dancing' on the field that NESN opened their broadcast with tonight. That was phenomenal.

I'll be a little disappointed if Paps didn't pass out and sleep it off on the Fenway turf last night.
