I'm not even going to call it "fuck the rulez"

I asked in the previous game thread and my fellow band of lurkers supported this thread...so here it is

It is what it is..........Sox have lost 3/4 while the Yankees have won 3/4

Lead down to 3.5 (assuming NY hangs on)

Lurker Nation is strong and we're not going to panic like some of the more "diehard" members of the main board right?

John "the snake" Lester vs AJ "oowww my elbow!" Burnett

How about some Office I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery?

There are what 11 regular season games left?

Sox are a near playoff lock at this point....let's enjoy them

The division will take care of it's self

I'm not trying to be Mr Positive because you all know I bitch more then I should....but I've decided to just enjoy this.

Come December I'll be desperately missing it...that's for sure.

The long and the short of it: Lester is stronger than cancer, Troy Glaus, and magic numbers.

Ordinarily, I'd have something more to offer for a new game thread. But I felt it was imperative to make THIS thread come up on the Sandbox most-recent-gamethread slot, the better to wash away the last remaining vestiges of last night's abortion of a game, complete with four -- count 'em, 4 -- Yankee Trolls haunting our thread.

Content under construction. Watch this space.

Lester vs. Burnett does not appear to be a favorable matchup. And looks like we will see Kazmir in Tampa, not to mention Haren and Johan closing the season out at Fenway. Amazingly this division race that should have been over in July is far from it.

As we well know by now, Teflon Jon Lester never loses a decision. As we also know by now, Tito hates to remove his starting pitchers. These factors will combine to get us the win tomorrow - Tito will leave Lester in through thick and thin, and somehow, some way, he will end up with the W.

Cheers from the UK after a travel, jet-lag and internetless induced hiatus from SoSH. It appears that times are not exactly well, but yesterday I bought my pay-as-you-go phone from a guy whose parents live in Boston. He told me about the 2004 playoffs as if I had no clue what happened. I let him tell the story in his own way. I found out that the Sox were down 3-0 to the Yankees, and actually won the series 4-3!!!

He also couldn't remember who they beat in the World Series, but I let that slide, I was far too excited by a Brit who at least had minimal knowledge of Red Sox lore. This is a good omen.

The addition of the lovely PN23 to our fine sandbox is nothing compared to all of the MFY trolls that, as you have pointed out, will be settling into our play area in the remaining weeks. Now, I am all for having MFY fans on here. Most are good, civil, intelligent, reasonable posters who know they are outnumbered. But there will be others. Oh yes, there will be others. I am too docile to be in the gang but I will offer financial assistance (aka blood money) to get it going. I'm thinking you all need the usual weapons, chicks and bling bling?

And, if Yankees fans wanna crash the party, as somebody who grew up in Los Angeles (OK, maybe more like Anaheim, but if the Angels can claim LA, so will I,) I will show them a gang war. The jump ins commence tonight, using the Blue Jays as a whipping boy. Hopefully we can get Burnett's arm as a victory prize as he serves of meatballs to Lowell and the boys.

I dunno, but the ascension of Foulkey's avatar should inspire us to do battle for the honor of the Sandbox. This is just spitballing, but what better to do with six hours before game time? God forbid that I should go to the Office. :(

First we need to identify Yankee Trolls and Chicken Littles, then we need to apply strategies appropriate to each. CLs can sometimes be helped -- after all, they are lurkers in distress. We talk them off the ledge (mention 2004 in every post, along with Jacoby Ellsbury). If that doesn't work, label the CL as such. I think a CL should have to file 3 sincere, snark-free pollyanna posts before being restored to good standing.

YTs are different. First we need tactics, then weaponry, then the skill and determination to use them. How about:

First, nominate the troll as a YT in the game thread (an individual lurker has to start this off).

If 3 other lurkers in good standing second the nomination (everybody will have to decide what good standing is for himself), it's time for the Mass Ignore. Multiple lurkers should promptly Ignore the troll (the Ignore feature is in SoSHControls, third under the Options list at the bottom of the page). To be most effective, it's important to tell the thread that the troll has been added to your pink list.

I haven't Ignored PN23 yet. His meds might still kick in.

This is very good advice. I propose this bill to be called, "Troll ignore initiative of 2007" or TII2007.
We need to cut out the negativity. Last time I checked, the MFY were still back 3.5 games. I can understand negativity such as when Cora shows us one of his brillant plans, like last nites tumble and error, but CL's need to stop. We can comment on when Cora pulls a bonehead move, but the end of the world comments have to stop.
