Relatively new to the 'box, so maybe you've had a thread like this in the past. Just curious about any Sox (or Pats) fans located in the Cincinnati area. Feel free to post where you are from if you'd like to find lurkers near you.

Whereabouts in Cincinnati? I'm in Cambridge MA now but used to live in Villa Hills on the Kentucky side; I love Skyline chili and make a pot of it every once in a while.

I'm from PHX. I moved down here right out of college to take a job. I haven't had a great deal of time to meet people. It would be nice meeting up and making some new sox friends maybe for the playoffs? Are there any good places to take in a ballgame? BTW - I'm desparately hoping for a SOX dbacks World Series!

Howdy all.

Oklahoma City here. I see lots of Sox hats, but whenever I ask they say they just liked the colors.

Born in Holyoke, grew up in Colorado, now in Oklahoma after retiring from the Air Force.

Blue Monkey - what part of PHX are you in? I'm an ASU alum and lived in Scottsdale a few years after that. Four Peaks brewery is a good sox friendly bar. There's one in North Scottsdale at 101 & Frank Llyod Wright and there's also one in Tempe just south of Unversity by McClintock. Good food and beer too.

I lived in Awatukee, Tempe, Scottsdale and worked in West Phoenix for a 4+ years, so if you can give me an idea where you're living I should be able to point you somewhere.

Just shoot me a PM or post back.

Good ole Central Illinois here. I've seen several students wearing RED Sox stuff (and not the little fangirl crap, either). Just about as many as White Sox. Very surprising since I'm only two hours from Chicago and the university here gets a lot of Chicago students.

I worked at I-17 and Bell for a while and could never find a good Sox bar in the area. In terms of sports bars in that area, you got Santisi Brothers at Bell and I-17. It's on the North Side of Bell in the same complex as Hooter's, kinda hidden in the far back corner. They have a ton of tvs and cheap beer, but if it's packed sight lines can be kinda bad.

Then you got Half Moon Sports Grille on Greenway and 7th St. It's ok and they have big screens and $3 fat tires all the time. A bit of a restaurant feel for me and it's more likely they will play music than sound on any games.

Closest sox bar I know is that 4 Peaks on 101 and Frank Llyod Wright. Probably 20 minutes east on the 101. Exit Frank Llyod Writght, turn right, then take the first left onto Hayden and then left into the parking lot. They will always have the sox on and generally at least a couple other fans (some working/some not). Generally pretty easy to get a seat at the bar with the exception of Friday, directly after work.

You can hit me up with a PM if you have any questions about the area.

Hey hurst, I grew up here in Massachusetts, but I lived in the DC area for about 5 months in the mid-nineties. It's a great area except for the traffic of course. I lived inside the beltway in Annandale, and worked in Alexandria.

i am a VA native, but my family hails from MA (canton and braintree), so i get up there a few times a year; in fact, i was at fenway for papi's grand slam vs. the angels.

yeah, the traffic down here is a mess, getting worse every year.

it's like, to paraphrase elwood explaining to jake the train schedule outside his window in 'the blues brothers':
"how bad is the traffic?"
"so bad you won't even notice it"

Yah...Commute from Dunn Loring Metro to Foggy Bottom. Lots of Sox fans at GWU. Some good Sox bars in town, too, but I prefer to watch from the comfort of home (HD, TiVO, 6.1 sound).

You may also want to consider Rock Bottom at Desert Ridge, it was pretty much a Red Sox bar for as long as I can remember, generally they have a big screen behind the bar dedicated to the Red Sox games. Quite a few of the bar staff are from New England. It is closer than 4 Peaks which is actually my hang out. Either one is pretty good to watch a Red Sox game, both are microbrew bars which is awesome. The best happy hours are at 4 Peaks though, I know it's all day Sunday $2.75 a beer along with the regular 4-7 weekday happy hours. The odd thing about 4 Peaks is that it's a Vikings bar for the football season yet it's a Red Sox baseball bar. Anyway, the IPA at 4 Peaks kicks ass, I think it's 7.9%, bring a designated driver. You won't go wrong if you wear some Red Sox garb and the staff at both places will make you very welcome, along with the regulars.

Clearly it's getting very international around here.

I'm in the UK, living in York but work means I spend most of my life in London. Currently looking out of my office window at Big Ben and the London Eye. Any other Sox fans out here?

I have a thought for a Lurker Nation Meeting in Tampa Bay. Inside the Trop, either at the Batter's Eye (which has an all-you-can-eat buffet from which we can watch the game), or the Budweiser Brewhouse on Centerfield Street (roughly equidistant from either side of the stands).

The locals know to what I refer when I say "UConn Territory," but for you internationals, I am referring to the University of Connecticut. I am NOT referring to Canada.

I live in Vernon, CT and work in a large office building in Bloomfield, CT. My office is about divided about 45/45/10 percent into Sox, NYY, NYM fans. Baseball dicussion is always exciting around here!

As our only "home" team is anything UConn Huskies, sport discussions in general are heated between Pats, Jets, Giants...Rangers and Bruins (and mournful thoughts of the Whalers)...Knicks and Celtics.

Honestly CT is a great state to be if you're a sports fan. It's fun going to a sports bar here and having the fandom be 50/50 no matter what the sport is. Generally it's Sox/Pats/Celtics/Bruins vs Yankees/Jets or Giants/Knicks/Rangers.

Every once in a while I'll run into a Mets fan, but not as often as you would think.
