Good evening, Sandbox denizens.

So, this week is the second round of the playoffs in my fantasy league. Jon Lester was on the waiver wire, so I plucked him in the afterglow of last night's big comeback win and gave him a start tonight. Jon went ahead and walked the first guy he faced, and just gave up a quick RBI single to Carlos Pena. My pitching stats going in were great, and the only thing that could cost me the week (and a guaranteed cash spot) is if Lester gets pounded. As I type this, he just gave up a two-run dong to Upton. The guy I'm playing must be giggling his ass off. I feared this. At 7:04, I had my finger on the button, and I was going to deactivate Lester. My faith got the best of me, as I imagined gloating about his impending gem in the 'Box tonight. The lesson, as always: Trust your gut instinct. It's almost always correct. Two base hit. Bye-bye cash.

Well, all that wonderful I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery evaporated pretty quick. Lester doesn’t seem to have any idea where his pitches are going.

Shockingly, the Yankees score in the 1st inning as well. Major momentum we have going into the final 2 weeks here.

I know this seems feckless after last night, but I have absolutely zero confidence that today's pop-gun lineup can come back again today.

There is no such thing as a Fake Edit, I am just an idiot who can't figure out how to put a secondary thought into my posts without this crutch: Boo!

Does anybody else here find it strange that SOSH has all these server problems...but has no problem letting Yankee fans have their own game threads here?

Lester seems to be dropping down below ¾ and his pitches are sailing, not darting.

What a disaster. Worst possible scenario. I didn't need to start him, at all. Why would I possibly ruin an entire season's worth of hard work with such a questionable pitcher? The lesson, as always: Trust your gut.

This is gonna be another degree-of-difficulty game, with the Sox playing with Lowell, Manny and Ellsbury tied behind their back.

I do have faith in the ultimate suckitude of Tampa Bay’s pitching staff. It’s the Manatee Effect.
