The magic of last night just ended for me as the MASN pre-game show is followed by an AIR SUPPLY INFOMMERCIAL OF ONE HIT WONDERS! Because the game is supposed to be on my local cable, I am blocked from MLBTV. Enough of my whining.

Jon Lester beat the big C, he can beat the little O.

Our B team will show the old guys what they are made of. (Of course JD does look like the 13 yr old in 5th grade out there with that group.)

Glen will have a long and prosperous reign of starting game threads.

We had a I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery of simply believing in our team last night. Let's keep it simple. Let's

That last pitch was a 77 mph curveball. I didn't notice Clay shake him off. If he did it was so subtle.

Hammel for TB has 6 K's thru 3 innings. Only 1-0 TB.

When I wrote 'Clay wanted the curveball', I mean he called off the first sign because he wanted to throw the curve. I know it was a curve... I'll see if I can post the video to show that Clay shook him off.

In watching that montage, to my eyes, it still looks like Clay called off Tek's first sign on the last pitch. I don't know that it matters much, but I keep reading that Tek called the perfect pitch, but it looked like Clay wanted the curve there.

You got membered too Muzzy? Or have I just not noticed before DW and Tims' promotions?

Didn't Clay walk his first guy too? Or at least, one in the first inning? (Oh yeah, that was an HBP.)

Lineups per the Herald:

Red Sox:

2B - Pedroia
SS - Cora
DH - Ortiz
3B - Lowell
RF - Drew
1B - Youkilis
LF - Moss
CF - Ellsbury
C - Cash

Orioles:

Who the fuck cares?

How many of these people were in the lineup this point last year? Or did I miss where it was now going to be the Pawtucket Red Sox vs the Baltimore Orioles?

Yeah. I watched that last pitch many times now and because it's from the OF camera I can only really look for Clay maybe shaking his head. So I don't know and I guess in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter.

I was membered last November! :c070:

Mr. Negative, it doesn't matter who called for the curve for the final K, but I seem to read articles that point out that Tek called a great game, and he may have called much of the game, but I think the last pitch was Clay's call. That's the only reason it matters much.

Don't forget the leadoff walk.

BTW that's 12 innings that the RS pitching has not allowed a hit against the O's

Pedroia might have a tough row to hoe getting past Polanco and Ellis, but he's got to rate consideration. Youkilis ought to win, even with the so-so range numbers.

Between the 4 for 5 Friday night and that ridiculous play yesterday, Dustin's really putting the finishing touches on his ROY portfolio in this series, isn't he?

The only reason I can see Cora in there is because he owns Cabrera. The others have me shaking my head too.

I do love when Francona does things like this based on tiny samples - to keep the Indian name I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery going from last night Terry's new Indian name is "Chief Badatmath"...
