Timothy Wakefield once said, "When you're pushed, killin's as easy as breathin". Or that may have been John Rambo. They are both so similar in many ways. Both are veterans and elder statesman. Both kill/win in their own ways. Like Rambo, Wakefield lurks and waits before he pounces on you with his 65 mph grenades. And like Rambo, Wake battles and leaves his blood on the field.

If I were you Mr. Buehrle, I would think twice about this fight. Do you really want to face this? There is only one outcome.

HE GAWN!!!

Start spreadin' the newwwwwwwwws
They're diggin' a graaaaaaaaave
They're gonna throw this team in it:
NEW YOOOOOOOOORK, NEW YOOOOOOOOORK!!!!

We're up 6.5 games. And I feel fine.

Guys, I am probably going to be out of contact for the next week. I'm going up to the family's timeshare in Atlanta. Hopefully I'll be there all week, and will get to catch the Braves game next Friday night since that's when they come home from their road trip. :(

I want to at least see us more games up on the Skanks when I get back. Oh, and...

WIN!!!

So yesterday at work was the first time i sat through an entire game thread on here and we end up winning both games by a combined 17 runs on a day when no one thought any games were gonna get played. Oh yeah some other team from NY lost their game too. Im not saying I caused it, but I pretty much did.

Aren't you going to get the game there? Or is that you just hate the Fox announcers like everyone else?

Can't speak for Mandurro, but I hate the announcers, the stupid game time, Jeanie Zelasko and Kevin Kennedy, and the general fact that every aspect of FOX Sports presentation is an insult to brain-owning people worldwide.

Having said that, WIN today!!! Let's waste another 12 hours of Ozzie Guillen's life.

Wake tries to keep pace with Beckett, Drew should be on the bench again, and Cash tries to extend his hitting streak to 2 games.

Let's get it done.

ridetheseal, I would like to commend you for your excellent performance yesterday. I have complete faith in your continued ability to lead us.

Under you, we've outscored opponents 21-4, giving us a .965 expected winning percentage. With 33 games left on the schedule, we can expect a 32-1 record from here on out, for a final record of 110-52, which is right where we expected it to be all along :)

Back in the land of less small sample sizes... I would like to point out that the White Sox are really bad. Offensively, they're unfathombly bad. Our team OBP is higher than all but Jim Thome's. Our team SLG% is higher than all but a handfull of White Sox. Our team OPS is higher than all but Thome's and Paul Konerko's.

Defensively, only the non-Kasmirian portion of Tampa Bay's pitching staff saves Chicago from being last in the AL in runs allowed. Here's how good the Red Sox pitching staff has been by comparison: We turn the rest of the MLB into the White Sox :(

White Sox hitters will be flailing at Tim Wakefield butterflies all afternoon and Red Sox batters will be making Beurhle rethink his contract extension.

More weather linkage I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery: Looks like Chicago is damp but clearing out. I have no idea what this means for Wake's knuckler, but no matter:

WIN !!!

NWS Great Lakes radar loop

Detroit should clear out in time for MFY evening game. May the Tigers force Torre to the pen AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN!

To: The harmonic forces that unify all matter across the far-flung cosmos
Fr: Yours Truly
Re: Seven

Dear harmonic forces,

Thank you for your support through a long day yesterday, seeing to it that the forces of good triumphed, and that the forces of evil fell in an especially soul-crushing manner, and at an ungodly hour. This is truly the way to start a weekend!

HF, as you may recall, our last missive discussed the positive impact that a seven game win streak would have. With two games behind us, we have reduced this figure to a very manageable five games. Two of these are against the White Sox, who trail every AL team not based in a state that is or has been governed by a Bush. Three are vs. the source of all baseball evil, which has apparently decided to start someone named "TBD" in each contest.

We who habitually denounce the dark side, its owner and its players, hope to see the "GB" column reflecting a double-digit gap between good and evil by the end of next week.

Thank you in advance for your continued support!

Best regards...

Kevin Cash playing the late game and again this afternoon should make for a few passed balls today. But I remain optimistic. The bats are finally mashing, the slumbering giants shall awake for the home stretch!

Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings (names might be slightly different, I don't have an English Windows version), then enter the above IP and port as your proxy server. This should allow you to bypass the blackout.

The Mets' just had a beautiful caught stealing. I don't know who the catcher is (Lo Duca is hurt), but the throw was picture perfect.

Yes, Right click on the internet explorer icon on your desktop. Go to properties and click on the connections tab. Under the connections tab hit the Lan settings button. Click on the box that says use a proxy server, which will ungrey out the box that lets you enter the IP and port for the proxy server. Put the IP address that JohnnyK gave you into that first box and then put the port in the port box. Hit OK and you should be good to go.

It's pretty cool that Pedroia now looks like a mini white version of Barry Bonds with all that armor.
