Kenny Williams is bucking Tampa Bay for MLB’s most unreasonable front office – advertizing a fire sale, and then demanding Needless-Markup prices. That kind of performance will hamper his maneuverability in the coming off-season.In related news there were no takers for tonight's starter Jose Contreras. White Sox blow.

I am very concerned about the server come playoff time. I seriously would pay $50 if you'd just tell me the server will hold up throughout the playoffs.
Yeah...considering the way it is now, it's just gonna get worse.
That was a nice changeup on Youk unfortunatly.

I am, however, going to start a small-area analysis (i.e., hatch marks) of tracking the first play that occurs when I turn on the TV or MLBTV. Tonight, I got the joy of watching Roberts' first pitch HR. Scratch one in the Bad column.
Welcome abroad Remy ..nice to see another of the great diaspora located in VA. Down in the Tidewater myself.
Let's kill these critters from Bawlmur.
and - please

i thought roberts would get a double to start the game, not go deep. that sucked
This start is Beckett's tribute to Okajima. He's recreating his major league career. A first-pitch homerun followed by total dominance.

At the risk of being an ungrateful lurker, I say: triple the membership price, admit Active Lurker Nation, and buy a little redundancy on some backwoods server farm.I am very concerned about the server come playoff time. Hear me, Dopes.
There is no such thing as a Fake Edit, I am just an idiot who can't figure out how to put a secondary thought into my posts without this crutch: I think this happened last year around trading deadline too, and this year there was the Garnett deal as well. Even so, with the playoffs coming, SOSH should scale up.

The main board will probably blame lurker nation, too, if he server shits the bed come playoff time. PRobably justifiedly so.

I love how teams can't simply hope to work the pitch count against our stud starters, seeing how it would be pointless.

My humble lurker suggestion would be to lock the playoff game threads to members (like nyyfans does full-time), BUT, allow lurker nation to have their GT too for a fee of, say, $20 each for the whole playoffs. I'm pretty sure many of you fellow regulars would be down with that. Imagine the playoffs without lurker nation!

I'd be down for a pay-to-chat lurker system in the playoffs if it comes down to it. We should tell the Main Board Dopes about it if they shut us down.

Sorry if this has been covered, but when will Gagne be in uniform available to pitch?
I heard tomorrow.

They expect Gagne to be ready for tommorow night's game.

Would it be accurate to say that both hits Beckett has given up today would have been caught by JD Drew?
Edit: Not anymore.
Not Jermaine Dye, certainly.

Yeah, he's a good player. Fuck him.

Yeah, I'd want to be a member. I would probably still hang out in the SBGTs, though. I like you guys.

How do the Orioles lose so many games? They have a decent amount of talent.
Bedard and Guthrie can't start every game, and their pen is not good.

There is a thread over on the main board about donating through PayPal. I think it's $29.00. I contributed. But I do think members ought to be paying members and lurkers should be required to donate. Keep everyone else out! We need speedy servers that can handle the bandwidth demand and a quality system is not cheap.
Curse you Os for scoring.

I think the Proctor thing was addition by subtraction: getting rid of a guy whose arm is about to fall off for ANYTHING can only be viewed as a positive.
But which marginally effective reliever is Torre going to run into the ground now? Someone's gotta pitch those innings.

yeah. I guess not having Tejada for a while ruined their shit, plus Ramon Hernandez is awful this season.

But hey, theyre 6-3 vs the MFY, and it would be 8-1 if it werent for a bogus raindelay and Chris Ray shitting his pants.

Yeah, he's running out of cannon fodder, though I'd look to Bruney and Farnsworth and possibly a recall for Edwar to run into the ground. Even if Jabba the Chamberlain comes up, Torre won't be allowed to abuse him.

Vizcaino, Come On Down!
They needed to trade for a Gagne type, where as to us he was a luxury. How did they not go out and get at least a Salomon Torres-type? Terrible deadline for the Yanks, IMO.
