I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember a few other occasions where Borges has hedged his bets between the Glob and MSNBC.

Borges on WFAN -

about I don't know the name of the Pats coach guy being grumpy:

"He's earning $5 million a year to be a glorified gym teacher"

I wonder why they can't just get along.

Just heard the interview with Borges and Chris Russo -- Borges is one bitter guy. The interview was a succession of "yes, buts". Yes, I don't know the name of the Pats coach guy is great, but he's a baby. Yes, he's having success, but he can't enjoy it. Patriots are going to lose. The players know they are going to not get paid and look forward to leaving, etc.
I guess what I've been trying to say all night is that I really don't want to lose this game. Now, I'm just a naked guy on my couch with a laptop, a television and some fruit punch but I've got feelings too. -- Drocca, July 19th game thread

And what does Borges do to earn his money? He talks and writes (mostly speculative nonsense) about glorified gym teachers and their overgrown students. This guy has an ego the size of Keith Byars' ass. Jesus. How about a modicum of humility?

Borges is a case-study in watching someone wrestling with Jung's shadow........it's at once repulsive and funny, but in the end, just sad. The whole world is laughing at this guy......and his behavior towards Belichick.....but he just can't see it. He thinks he is a rational actor in this circus of the absurd that he has created, and tries to pass off as sports journalism.

In the Glob yesterday, he had a full page comparison for each team, giving one or the other the edge. It seemed pretty fair, except for coaching, where he rated Belichick and Dungy EVEN.

Belichick is 13-2 lifetime in the playoffs with 3 Super Bowl championships, but he's not better than Dungy, who is under .500 and has no Super Bowls. Sure, that's fair.

What a tool, he is so obviously letting his personal feud get in the way of even pretending to be impartial or fair or accurate.

The sad thing is, he's pretty knowledgeable about football. If he didn't have such an obvious axe to grind, we'd have a good columnist to read on the Pats. As it is, The Globe is seriously lacking for a good read on the best team in the region. Christ, they've even let Shaughnessy chime in, and it's bad enough that he's a feature guy on the Sox.

Will McDonough must be rolling in his grave. :)

Borges, in ostensibly trying to praise Dungy today, takes about 30 veiled and not-so-veiled shots at BB this morning. I'm not going to link to it here, it's not worth anyone's time.

As good as his game recap was on Monday, that's how bad this article is today.
DotB: "Have you not met the Skrub? Women want him, men want to be him, and of course, tranny hookers choose both. He's a rolling party of frollicking fun. The man makes HRB look like a 13 year old fumbling with a bra strap for the first time."

"I was introduced to cocaine in 1973. So from 1973-80, I was taking Dexedrine, Benzedrine, Darvons, sleeping pills, smoking dope, drinking beer, doing cocaine, and chasing women, and I never played a day without it.’’ - Bernie Carbo

I think it goes beyond "no-so-veiled." He might as well as well be screaming, "Belichick is an A-hole, Belichick is an A-hole!!" for the length of the thing. This guy needs to be put out to pasture. They should just let Reiss do the Pats stuff - at least he works at his job.
