How can Pettitte even concentrate on pitching vs. the Red Sox when the long awaited reunion is so close to being a reality?

Posted Image

G38, on the other hand, will be ready as always. Before the 2001 World Series, Schilling was asked about the Yankee "Mystique and Aura." Schilling's response, IIRC: "Those are two dancers at a nightclub." He then proceeded to back up his words in the World Series, and the MFY haven't been the same since.

G38 is the man. But we already know this.

WIN.

Sox could use 7 or 8 strong from Schilling. The big question: Does he drill A-Rod?

I guess I'm one of the few not calling for Slappy to get beaned. I'm not sure I wanna risk a bench-clearing brawl waking those guys up, and all the drama that would come with Schilling, of all people, drilling A-Rod. However, if a message IS going to be sent, I won't complain. But do it right. Don't be like Shawn Estes when Clemens finally came to bat vs. the Mets and the little pussy "missed" and threw a lame fastball behind Clemens' ankles. If you're going to do this, then DO IT, put a 95 mph heater in between his shoulder blades a la Armando Benitez vs. Tino Martinez way back when.

I'll take my chances in a brawl with WMP, Hinske, Papi, Donnelly and Julian fucking Tavarez on our side.

EDIT: Per ESPN.com...

Boston second baseman Dustin Pedroia was upset after the game because he thought Alex Rodriguez hit him with an elbow while breaking up a double play in the eighth.

"He went in late and threw an elbow, but it's no big deal," Pedroia said. "I know now that when he's going in, my arm slot drops to the floor. Some people play like that, and some people come in with hard, clean slides."

The real matchup is Clay Buchholz v. Roger Clemens in AA.

Estes did miss when he threw at the Rockette that day, but don't forget -- he also hit a home run off him. And, let's be real here -- if there's anything bigger than the Rockette's @ss, it's his ego. He took himself out of that game with a "turned ankle" suffered while covering first. No wonder -- the Mets were destroying him that day. Both Estes and Piazza hit homers. The game was in 2002 and I was there with my Diamondbacks World Championship t-shirt on under my Mets jersey. Good times. :gonk:

A-rod should be hit. He made a realy dirty play by elbowing Pedroia. I honestly would not care at this point about suspensions because we have 10.5 games on the MFY.

Leaving Yankee Stadium 11.5 up is the best response they could have.

Besides, letting A-rod think he'll get hit all night is the best way to keep his mind out of the game.

We got the one we needed last night, now lets get the one we want tonight and really bury them.

WIN

As far as A-rod, I'm with asection8. Leave him guessing on when it's coming. It was a cheap play, but it didn't affect the outcome of the game and Dustin isn't hurt. No reason for Schilling to lost the inside of the plate, cause you have to believe as soon as he plunked him the benches would be warned. The last thing I want is Schilling tossed cause he grazed Jeter in the 3rd inning.

I agree. Sometimes the real torture is in the potential and not the actual.

Hey, asection, is Lucca Brazi swimming with the fishes in Abe's pool?

Breaking news from New York, AFruad has been named Bush League MVP.
I'm for leaving AFraud guessing as to when payback is coming. Personally, I really like Pedroia's idea of dropping his arm slot a bit next time Afraud is trying to break up a DP.

Because it seemed to work yesterday......

WIN.

Yesterday was my first game thread post and the sox won, I am back to do it again. Lets take two out of three from these sorry sacks of you know what. Do it boys. Oh and please don't hit that pussy Arod, being up 11.5 is way better then watching Alice go down on her knees.

Out of respect for Dustin, I hope Curt merely tries to frustrate ARod with pitches he can't reach. If we hit him we're saying he really is one of Them. F that. Let him continue to try to prove it himself.

Steinbrenner and Torre are the real reverse I am unoriginal and unfunny. Please put me out of my misery. Ten years ago Torre would have been sacked after the first two Red Sox-Yankees series. Not now, however. After all the managers that have been needlessly sacked, here's Torre looking beaten and wishing for the welcome the relief of euthanasia. Steinbrenner, on the other hand, for the first time ever, shows a little patience and instead of doing a Dr. Kevorkian on Torre, decides letting him suffer with a terminal illness is more humane.

Anyway. Win.

Yeah, the Sox should just look at the bigger picture and bide their time here. You know the Yanks are going to be on their toes, waiting to respond to a hit batsman or something. I like the Family Guy episode where Stewie gives Brian the opportunity to 'get him back' after he had the gambling debt and subsequent beatings. Stewie went bonkers because he didn't know when his time would come.

I hope Schilling lays low and I hope they just worry about trying to beat the Yanks. I hope Pedroia can beat 'em with his bat.

You don't need to give these guys something to 'rally' around. I know that's up for debate, whether or not you trigger a team through melees, but the Sox look to the Varitek/A-Rod scuffle as a pivotal point. Just don't mess around this night, wait till later.

I'm with you. Purpose pitches should serve a necessary purpose. As gratifying as it would be to see Schill put one between the 1 and the 3 on A-Rod's jersey, the best retribution will be to have the MFYs wake up to barking tabloid headlines about an 11.5 game gap on Friday morning.

Besides, it sounds like Pedroia's got a pretty good idea of how to take care of himself. I'd hate to be wearing pinstripes and sliding into second tonight.

Edit: Also, that's quite a photo. I didn't think it was possible to laugh and throw up in my mouth at the same time.

Drew sitting. Crisp batting 2nd, Youks 5th, WMP 8th.

MFY batting 5 lefties in a row.

Tonight's PBP man: Chris Berman.

EDIT: AND Steve Phillips....and poor Orel Hershiser in between.

I live in Manhattan and just turned on my tv to find that not only will I be forced to watch the game on the YES network, but there are two different feeds of Roger Clemens' start on THREE of the ESPN channels.

Does that qualify as attempted brainwashing?

It's hard not to wonder if Schilling's business takes too much of his time and attention. Perhaps he thinks he can do everything and doesn't get enough sleep? We need more out of him than we are getting lately.
