Forgive the hijack. I need input. The company I work for was just purchased by an investment group based in Providence. This investment group, among their many holdings, owns a chunk of the YES Network. Thus, the argument could be made I now work with the MFY's. Puke! Now, I am protestant and a believer in Grace, but does this make me unclean? I mean, I feel so dirty. Is there anything I can or should do to remove this stain? Any non-protestant suggestions would be welcome.

There’s a noble role for Embedded Red Sox to play, even in the belly of the beast. You can feed co-ordinates to the bombing runs, and give aid and comfort to shot-down Sox pilots. Vive la resistance!

Because he's shorter, don't you think more of his linedrives will be caught by infielders?

No. Not at all. In fact, given his uppercut swing, he'd arguably have less. Line drives caught by infielders are basically luck and positioning, they don't have much to do with the hitter.

EDIT: HOLY CRAP! LOWELL!

BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!

It must be fun in the NYY clubhouse right now.

10.5 down.... Getting ready to take the field.... looking up and seeing the Sox up 7-0 and the Mets staring back at you from the other side of the diamond.

BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!

Haha, he pitches it to the man and boom goes the dynamite. Orsillo should use that instead of coming up with his own silly saying like you've been Dice-K'd.

It's early, but with how dice-k is pitching and the score how it is, we may be looking at back to back complete games. (knock on wood)

Loooooooong rest for Dice-K, it will be interesting to see how this effects him. Especially with Tek calling the game with the big lead, could be we see more FBs since we are up by so much?

It’s official. Call the game, cancel the rest of the series, and send Hansack and Gabbard back to Pawtucket.

The rain on the camera lens gives Lowell a halo + aura. Bless him.

Doesn't look like the rest bothered Dice-K. But then again, he probably threw 53 pitches in the underground batting cages so he could stay fresh.

4 less Rbi's than Arod, one more than Papi. A doubles machine.

I love him too.

Update: another RBI

Need a triple for the cycle. what are the odds?

Watching Andruw Jones in center makes me really psyched to see Ellsbury play at fenway. Just a vacuum out there.

Unfortunately, about every 30 AB he shows something. If we can just get him going this team might be pretty good!

Oh, and can we activate Charlie Zink to pitch the rest of this game?

I'm really impressed how he's dealing today. I expected 124 pitches to leave him flat today (especially on a cold day like today), but his command is just as good and his offspeed stuff seems better than last time. He's gone only four days rest the last two times and he actually seems to be fine with all these 110+ pitch counts. Man, having him, Beckett, Lester, and Buchholz to look forward to makes the MFY's aging pitching staff and all their woes even better to see.

Dice-K will pitch the 8th and then the victory cigar himself, Joel Pinero will make an appearance for the 9th.

NO Way did WMP make that catch. I don't believe it.

Nice little tid bit from the Globe blog

But, after a two-run double by Julio Lugo brought the score to 12-0 and Bobby Cox went to the mound to replace yet another pitcher, the crowd here went into a mock Tomahawk chop, complete with hand motion and sound effects.
