Hey folks,
I commute each day to San Diego. On my drive home tonight, a topic on the radio (Mighty 1090) was rumors of a trade between the Sox and the Padres... Todd Walker returning to the Red Sox for Wily Mo Pena. The buzz was that "Boston was looking for a second baseman." I can't find any website references to this rumor, so take it with a grain of salt, but perhaps discussion worthy.
My personal vote is no. We know what Todd Walker's ceiling is... Wily Mo Pena 's ceiling perhaps, has yet to come.

Lock the thread, please.
On second thought maybe not. If Theo and Co. would dump Meredith and Bard for a 'Belli reprise....

I dunno, this might make sense insofar as it would lessen the impression that Lugo is our worst defensive infielder.
Word has it that Pedroia has come into camp looking svelte and hitting the ball well, so this is probably wishful thinking on the part of some Padres fans.

Hahaha!! If we didn't sign Ronnie Belliard for less money (1 yr. .75MM) than Todd Walker makes, (1 yr. 3.95MM) especially when we know that Todd Walker is not a great 2Bman. He wasnt that great in his prime, and now he's just about to turn 34.
This is just an example of a local media knowing that eventually we're probably going to be shopping WMP around, and they're discussing what they would have to give up to get him. Yeah, it's a little skewed to favor the home team, but no different than any local media and fans pumping up ridiculous trades that they would like to see happen that the other team's fans are probably laughing at.
