First Lineup of the Season

Okay, of the preseason, but tell me if you can look at this without getting excited:

Here is the Red Sox lineup when they face the Twins in the first exhibition game of the season tomorrow at 7 p.m.

1. Julio Lugo, SS
2. Kevin Youkilis, 1B
3. David Ortiz, DH
4. Jason Varitek, C
5. Mike Lowell, 3B
6. Wily Mo Pena, RF
7. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
8. David Murphy, LF
9. Jacob Ellsbury, CF

Pitcher: Curt Schilling

Ok so it's our first line-up of the season, but it's been posted in the Game Threads for tomorrow's game, which really is the more appropriate thread for this discussion, IMO. But like you said, it's the first line-up... it is exciting. I am more excited to see a couple of our young guys play. I'd rather see WMP in the clean-up role to see if he thrives in that type of role. And as much as I like to see Elsbury, I really want to see what Coco is gonna bring this year. Interesting also to note that Lugo is leading off and Youks is 2nd. Sign of things to come? Definately shows that they are the most likely 1-2 guys unless they show that they're not a good fit.
