Yeah this was a fun fight. Henderson got the better of most of the scrambles though. His legs are insane

Why not just run a Countdown special for the first 30 minutes instead of FOX-fying everything?

The NFL on FOX music is killing me.

Well, pretty much a worst case when you are only showing 1 fight

Bad call not to air the Guida/Henderson fight as well

Fight lasts under 2 minutes but had an exciting KO. I'm unclear if this will be considered a good thing or bad thing by Fox and UFC, although I expect the ratings to exceed expectations.

That was quick. Worth trying to dig up a replay atm?

Brock is probably going back to WWE if he loses to Overeem or if he does get past him when he inevitably loses to Dos Santos.

Just caught the replay. Guess i would be fairly disappointed with that national showcase of the UFC too.

Then next time they should show more than just one fight.

It was stupid of Cain to stand and bang with Junior and Dana seemed baffled by it as did I. When he hit the mat he (Cain) clammed up even though he was conscious. Not a good showing at all.

I had just assumed that they were going to cherry-pick the most exciting fight from earlier and air it before Cain/Junior. Maybe even have a quick finish on tap for afterward. Whoops. I couldn't help but imagine how much White would be ridiculing Strikeforce if this had happened to them. (EDIT: obviously I mean pre-Zuffa Strikeforce)

That fight was just sick. I can't believe Shogun survived those first 3 rounds.

EDIT: And the judges give it to Henderson. He dominated the first half, and just managed to hold on at the end.

Too bad that didn't end up being the fight Dana decided to air on the national stage.

Both guys surprised me tonight. Especially Shogun, as i was all but certain that he was completely cooked there early on.

Just a great night of fights last night from the prelims forward. Shogun/Hendo was just sick. The crazy thing is that we might have seen the 2 fight of the year contenders last night with the Alvarez/Chandler fight from Bellator being just as good if not a little better due to a finish.

Amazing fight. There have been some complaints that Shogun deserved a draw with a 10-8 5th round. Although I think he did deserve a two point round there, I also felt that Henderson deserved a 10-8 round in the 3rd. Any fight where I can feel that each fighter deserved a two point round is a good one. This was a great one.

The UFC announced today that following UFC 138, which took place in Birmingham, England, Chris Leben has been suspended for one year for a positive drug test. He tested positive for the pain killers Oxycodone and Oxymorphone.

Leben lost to Mark Munoz in what was the first ever five round non-title UFC main event fight. After two rounds of action, Munoz was awarded the win via a corner stoppage.

“I like Chris and I want him to do well, but based on his actions, he's been suspended for one year,” UFC President Dana White said. “If he needs professional help, we are going to be there for him. We want to see him succeed not only in the Octagon, but in his personal life.”

Anyone else really want to see Mayhem crush Bisping? I have enjoyed this season of TUF and think the guys who made the finals all have good skillsets. That being said, I want Mayhem to schedule a repeat of the Henderson flying forearm smash. And if the Jorge Rivera fight is any indication of what Bisping will do when antagonized Miller should be wary of illegal strikes.

I'm pulling for Mayhem and I think he'll do it. I actually think he's one of the most underrated mma fighters out there. I predict he'll RNC Bisping in the 2nd round.

As for this season, I think its been great. Diego is a beast who seems as though he could legitimately do some damage in the weightclass if he can build up his gastank a bit more. Also Dodson is an ass, but super talented. There's been a ton of finishes this season and with the lack of depth in those weightclasses I can see a lot of this season's TUF guys sticking around for a while.

Well I was wrong. Bisping looked really good. He's setting himself up nicely for a title shot. He's only been beaten by Hendo, Rashard, and Wandelei with only Hendo finishing him.

Normally, these grudge match fights lead to entertaining battles. Normally. I don't know what was more disapointing: Mayhem's cardio or Bisping's power. Please, someone make Bisping a contender. After Anderson's now customary feeling out period, The Count will last about 37 seconds once Silva realizes his hands pose zero threat.

The rest of the card was very entertaining. As good as Deigo looked in victory, I was more impressed with how non-one dimensional Dennis' striking looked and how fearless he was to trade with Diego. That armbar was pure brilliance by Diego however and I think both of these guys will be in the mix before long at 145. And I'm glad Bermudez didn't get his wing snapped cause Diego looked like he wanted to take it home with him as a trophy.

The Dodson fight was marred by a early stoppage but I really don't think Dilishaw would have recovered. That guy is as explosive as he is annoying. But the kid is impressive and he'll be fighting for a title at 125lbs as soon as the UFC sets up the division.

I thought Bedford looked good too, but he still has a sort of wooden-ness to his stand up that a good counterpuncher could expose. And holy crap can Louis take a beating. He's like Cabbage with green cornrows.

That was the best armbar I've seen since Nick Diaz/Evangelista Cyborg. Brilliant is right.

That stoppage was fine. When Herb stopped it and Dillashaw went to stand up and complain, he fell down and Herb had to catch him. No reason for the guy to get put to sleep when his brain was already scrambled.

Didn't Dillishaw have Dodsons leg after a scramble when it was stopped? I need to see it again.

This should be interesting.

UFC issued a press release to announce that Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber will be the coaches of the new season of The Ultimate Fighter Live. The show will move to its new network home with a two-hour premiere on Friday, March 9.

"We’re producing ground-breaking television with The Ultimate Fighter LIVE and we can’t wait to kick this season off with FX in March,” UFC President Dana White said. “It’s going to be can’t-miss TV. Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber are two incredible personalities who also happen to be two of the best fighters in the world. They genuinely dislike each other and I expect this to make for the best season yet."

While that is definitely in poor taste and worthy of action by Dana, the UFC looks hypocritical. Rashad made a bad Penn St joke and all he got was a talking to, if Rashad was a fringe fighter he'd have been cut too, or so I guess. With the amount of homophobic slurs and mygionistic comments that have permeated the sport from different fighters and nary a peep from White, who himself has said some pretty dumb and insensitive things, this comes off as strange to me. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come and Miguel wasn't just a sacrificial lamb.

I love Sonnen. He cracks me up.

If Chael Sonnen is to get past Mark Munoz in his next fight it is almost a lock that he will face Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight Title.

Where exactly that fight may take place is up in the air but according to UFC President Dana White, there is a chance it could take place in Rio:

"We've already started worrying about that," White said about security when Chael Sonnen meets Anderson Silva for the second time at UFC Rio II. "We will have presidential-type security down there for him. The biggest fear would be should Chael win that night. We'd have to f------ dig a tunnel underneath the Octagon."

As for Sonnen, he doesn't seem concerned:

"I'm def willing to go over there," said Sonnen. "I am sure there would be some security concerns, but those guys and their blow darts don't scare me."

Machida was probably his biggest challenge in the division and he subbed him.

Amazing, great strategy by Jones. The original plan was clearly to exploit the 10" reach advantage, but he wasn't landing and Machida hit him with a couple strong flurries. Mid-round, he throws the plan out and goes ground. A minute later, the fight is over. Such a complete package it's scary.
