Rules? We don't need no F&*#n rules. I would normally be happy the MFYs are loosing and on their 5th pitcher in the 8th against the BJs, but, for what its worth, I'd still like to finish 2nd. Here's to Wake - show them you still have it! Here's to a good game by all, especially the good guys who's time may be running out (Trot, Wake, Foulke Loretta, Adrian Gonzalez, etc.). Here's to TITO!!

GO SOX - WIN TODAY!

I hope the only reason Manny is playing is not to say goodbye to the fans. This makes me nervous. Why no Papi? Figure he would want to get some more stats for MVP...I know it's a long shot.

Manny is afraid of thunderstorms. Youkilis is a horrible speller and hates LF. Alot of them (Hansen's, Trot's, Damon's) are private. Just look in their friends for others. You don't need a myspace account to see the front page but for the pics, etc., you do.

You're probably right, what else would be the point of letting him play?
Youk is banged up, is on the bench.
Can you imagine if he screws up his knee tonight or tomorrow? Whether he goes or stays, that would be a disaster.

Some of them are created and maintained by some company but they mention that. If you look at the pictures on Youkilis' and Manny's, they are copyright protected. And the captions often have information that only the person in the picture (Manny, for example) would know. Other things:
1) They mention how much they love Johnny Damon even though he's a Yankee. Multiple ones do that.
2) If you scroll down the page to the comments section there are references that only the players know about.
3) If somebody was impersonating Craig Hansen, why would they block the page for unauthorized users? Doesn't make sense.

Theo had a Myspace, too, until the webmasters shut it down after finally realizing it wasn't actually him. The tipoffs? His picture was from (Site that Shut Down), his bio was from the AP, and his mom's name was spelled wrong. That was some great detective work!

You get better results finding real people if you check the more obscure players. I've found quite a few draft picks on Facebook.

Manny is playing for one reason, to show teams who may be interested in trading for him that he is ok.

I have no problem with Manny at DH today, but do we have to sit Papi, can't he play 1B? He has the entire off season to rest. He is the only guy worth watching now and is close to 140 RBI's.

Decisions...
Current mood: confused

First of all I would like to thank the people who have supported me throughout my career. Without you guys their wouldn't be an Adam Hyzdu in the MLB.

Right now I'm at the point in my career where I'm deciding if I should retire or not. It's a very rough time for me and I'm just not sure what I should do. I'm writing this to all my friends and fans in hope that you will give me your opinion and/or advice.

Thanks,

DU

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Didn't have to be a rocket scientist to nail that. He had a frayed rotator cuff in 2001 and missed most of the season and was 3-5 MPH slower for the next several years upon his return, especially in the early innings, but could still turn it loose late in the game when needed. Frayed rotator cuffs do not recover, they just get worse over time until it tears. He had his worst year in 2004 since he refused to turn it loose even when needed for fearing of damaging his shoulder further BEFORE he signed a big FA contract. In 2005, after he got his contract, those missing 3 MPH returned for the Mets, at least for the 1st half, since Petey had no reason to hold back as he already got his new daddys money, and sure enough, it took till 2006 for him to finally blow out his shoulder.

Pedro was one of the greats, we were fortunate to see him in his prime (pre 2001).

I don't know whether Wake's pitches have been flat up to now or not, having just been able to turn on the game, but he seemed to turn the heat on in the 4th pretty well. I still think Wake has a lot to offer: innings eater, keeps teams off balance, does well againt the MFYs, etc. I had been a supporter of keeping Belli for Wake' s comfort zone, but now am not so sure. Wake has made it abundantly clear during spring trainging and early part of the season, that he was happy to work with anyone, so if necessary bring in another vet catcher. Bard just wasn't working, and was getting worse. If Flaherty had decided to give it a go, as a veteran catcher, I think it may have worked. Anyway, I say bring back Wake, with a different catcher if need be - and NOT Piazza (I know from years in NY, he is not the answer to any of our prayers).

PS - Really sorry to hear about Pedro - once we were out of it, I was looking forwad to the Mets taking it to the MFYs, led by Petey.
