If you predicted a year ago that the only Sox regulars to make it to September unscathed were named Mark Loretta and Mike Lowell, you can collect your prize now.

While we're waiting for the game to stop sucking check out Hinske's splits for 2006. I'm guessing this is his match.com personal ad:
"Burly, athletic, Rasputin-esque bachelor seeks lovable platoon partner. I like playing the outfield, batting seventh, and hitters' counts. Don't bother if you're from Seattle."

I'm sure everyone's seen this, but it's always good for a laugh (Bert's the Twins' color guy):

They draft, sign, trade for, and develop all this good young pitching, and they don't trade them to NL teams for overpaid vets. And their coaching staff doesn't screw them all up trying to fix things that aren't broken before turning them loose prematurely in front of bloodthirsty hordes. And they put good defenses behind them to help them out.Is the manager that good, the farm sytem, luck? Year after year, they are a factor, got to admit, love to see them take the American League
( unless we do actually run the table and win the one game playoff)

Yeah, but besides all that...what do they do?They draft, sign, trade for, and develop all this good young pitching, and they don't trade them to NL teams for overpaid vets. And their coaching staff doesn't screw them all up trying to fix things that aren't broken before turning them loose prematurely in front of bloodthirsty hordes. They definitely do it differently than we do.
