Why is Kapler playing? Why isn't Wily Mo playing center and Hinske/Murphy playing right?
Seriously, Theo needs to release Kapler so Tito will give Murphy/Hinske some playing time.. When was the last time Kapler had an actual hit?
Edit: To answer my own question he went 2/4 (2 singles) on 9/3.... August 30th was his last XBH...

This has gone from the ridiculous to the sublime. I could rack my brain for the rest of the day and I wouldn't be able to come up with one viable reason to play Kapler today. I'm running out of adjectives, but let's end with "idiotic."

We understand you don't like Kapler...message recieved.Yes. One more month of watching Kapler in a Sox uniform. Unless the FO makes a bonehead move and resigns him.

But I do think fondly of the big bat era over the solid fielding era.
From today's Kansas City Star (a little article buried on the web page.)
“Earlier in the year,” Nelson said, “we were losing games like this. This is a growth process. When you learn how to win close games is what separates you from the pack.” Kansas City Star
I don't like being part of the pack.
OK .. the 2 men at 2nd base era is interesting.

I can remember a few gas can relief appearances where he really had some bad luck with ground balls, it does seem like he is relaxed and throwing a variety of good pitches. Nice work so far as a starter. Definitely a keeper for next year in some role. ( words I could not imagine writing in July)Remy made a great point..Since Tavarez is starting, he's thrown all of his pitches, and has been using his changeup alot more, which is really keeping the hitters on their heels. All these groundballs too are a nice thing. With this defense, it's all good...

Tavarez has done a nice job and all, but I hope they don't think this makes him an option for next year (in any capacity).
I don't know that they'd get much in return in a trade, since he's under contract for next year as well. This FO will see what he can do next year before they cut him loose.

Focus groups? they really have run out of things to talk about after this long in the season. god i hope orsillo jumps out of the window
I want them to talk up the profile show of Mirabelli a bit more. Some teasers, maybe a few clips.

I know some people have been comparing Tavarez to Lowe, but watching him as a starter and seeing the movement of his pitches, I am reminded more of a younger Bob Stanley. And beyond that, both of them have that brutal scowl. All that Tavarez is lacking is a palmball, and a rake...

Well, if he keeps on pitching like this then how could he not be an option. He been better than pretty much everyone outside G38 this year. He seems to be much more relaxed and not pressing. I am just sayin'

The rake was applied to his face when he was young

Nah, if someone applied a rake to Julian's face when he was young, it would have been an improvement.
