NYPL: Lowell (TBD) vs. Aberdeen (Josh Tamba) [7:05pm]


Team Awards: Brandon Moss, MVP. Devern Hansack, Pitcher of the year. Barry Hertzler, 10th Player. Keoni de Renne, Citizen of Year.

Playoffs Begin Tomorrow @ Trenton. Hideki Matsui is expected to rehab with the Thunder on Wednesday and Thursday.

Trenton and Portland (Battling for the Northern Division) and Akron and Altoona (Southern Division) all made the EL Playoffs Last season as well.


Clay Buchholz scheduled to start the playoff opener on Wednesday.

Mike James named to CL All-Star Team. Also named MVP of team.

Lowell defeats Aberdeen, 14-7.

Ryne Lawson went the first 5 innings, giving up 5 hits, 3 walks, a HBP and a WP, allowing 5 runs while striking out 3. Brian Steinocher went the next 2 2/3 innings, giving up 3 hits and a walk, allowing 2 runs while striking out 3. TJ Large went the final 1 1/3 innings, striking out one.

Reid Engel led the offense, going 3/4 with a HR. Paul Smyth and Chih-Hsien Chiang each went 2/5; Smyth with a HR and a HBP, Chiang with a triple. Mike Jones, Jon Still, Luis Exposito and Luis Segovia each went 1/4 with a walk; Segovia with a Grand Slam. Manny Arambarris went 1/5. Ryan Kalish went 0/4 with a HBP.
