Was Crisp not even running back to first? Make the effort Coco.
It was a hit and run play, he was never going to even be close

Please. It was an outright steal. Just bad luck.

A little note on Cha -- he actually gave up the Korean citizenship to stay in the minors. There is a mandatory 2.5 year military service for all Korean nationals (whether he plays in the minors/majors or not) and that might have been one of the reasons.
Cha is not followed as closely in Korea as fellow Korean-nationals in the MLB (Choo Shinshoo getting the most press these days as he had a
great start in Cleveland after being traded from the same Mariners.)
He's been blocked in Seattle for a while despite better numbers than some other call-ups in the Mariners system. He made a decent start against the Yankees in his previous start, giving up only 3 runs I believe.
3 runs on 5 innings.

over/under on the amount of BB's for Ortiz today? I'll set it at 3.
I'll take the under at 2.

Papi isn't the MVP of this team, let alone the league. The lineup sucks, but at least we get to watch Kyle Snyder pitch. This team is a train wreck. It's a shame the pathetic play is going to cost Papi the MVP.

Brilliant. They just showed a photo of Dustin Mohr when talking about Pedroia being in the line-up!
On Yahoo Sports, they have Mohr's picture for Pedroia.

I think Timlin already took the honor when he threw the offense under the bus.So who do we think is going to be the 1st Sox player to spout off to the media and start pointing fingers?

I see Hanley Ramirez, Marte, Bard, Sanchez, and Meredith in the box scores and all I can think of is Theo preaching about the importance of planning ahead with young talent. What a mess.
I would kill to have Shoppach/Bard and Mededith back right now
This entire season has been a disaster on every level

Timlin "threw the ball exceptionally well" last night

I have RF roof seats in two weeksPeople who say "I don't care...I am just excited for next year...we are gonna be great"....make me wonder when the last time they paid 95 bucks for a seat at fenway...and got a few 4.25 sodas and such...p.s.- The season isn't over...it would be nice to have our guys try and win some games.
I dont even want to go

If someone was going to spout off, it would have already happened. The only player who's said anything is Timlin lwhen he commented about the lack of offense last week.
There's a ton of people here who trash Tito but credit should be given for the manner in which he's handled the clubhouse during this collapse.

I hear ya Foulkey
I spend about 4 or 5 grand a year on my sox habit...so forgive me if I want to see them win at all cost. They don't allow me to pay for seats next year when I am going to "be in a lot better position" to pay.

Boy, I don't see anything in Pedroia to get excited about. He's no Freddy Sanchez.
Thats because you are a hardcore pessimist.

When I think back to April, I wasn't too enthused about our prospects for the year. But I fell in love with them again, and dared to hope. At this point, I just want to see them put up a fight down to the end. Keep it exciting for us..p.s.- The season isn't over...it would be nice to have our guys try and win some games.

They'd be my top 2.
I agree. Manny has had a HUGE season. Tough to argue the production from Big Papi though.
Regarding Papelbon, I think much like Clemens was the best pitcher in baseball last year, Papelbon has been the best this year. Clemens didn't win the Cy and neither will Pap, I suspect.

I like Pedroyer as a 2nd baseman a lot, but I'm not so sure if he's an ML caliber shortstop. He could easily slide in and replace Loretta in the 2 hole and playing second every day, IMO.
Pedroia.

lol...I was trying to make a point about the fact that people...including the sox...should try to win this thing no matter what...and that people who say dumb stuff like..."I don't know why everyone is all upset about the line up or last night etc..etc..because next year we are going to have a great team" make me want to scream....the day the Sox start giving me money back on my seats...is the day that I will applaud us "saving money" or "building for the future"....if we are building for the future...throw in a free 2008 season ticket for everyone I buy from now till the end of the year.

This game is quickly becoming a microcosim of the past month.
Do you watch the games? Seriously. The microcosim of the past month (actually, two months) was primarily shitty pitching. Snyder hasn't really done anything wrong here.
Edit: typo

I think the only way Pap was going to win the Cy Young was if he continued having a Gagne-esque, lights out season. He's scuffled a bit, and while he's still one of the top closers in the game, I think the Cy Young is going to Halladay. Heck, Pap could even lose out on the ROY to Liriano or Weaver or Verlander.

He started drinking early.
And yes...I have...its the only way to watch a game lately...lol
