I bet Manny hits a HR tonight. And Damon racks up a couple hits on the way to a high scoring victory.

Damon really needs to hear it for all the brainfarts he has in the OF this year. That's got to be the 3rd or 4th time that's happened to him.

Oriole announcers saying the Sox players are not showing much interest in the game. Very tough to argue otherwise at the moment.

I've never really bought into this line of reasoning. Do we think they are not trying? I can't honestly say that. Sloppy yes. Mistakes yes, but they're human after all. But lack of interest? I can't say that. If playing baseball were so easy we wouldn't all be so interested in watching it.

"I wish they'd fucking go away and never come back." - Pedro Martinez on the Yankees.

I'm taking the liberty of applying it to the Birds of Baltimore.

Watching Bedard pitch is about as painful as watching the Sox play defense.

There you stood
on the edge of your feather,
Expecting to fly.
While I laughed,
I wondered whether
I could wave goodbye,
Knowin' that you'd gone.

Oh, I absolutely agree, I would never make that argument. But it's tough to work up the energy to refute it after watching a miscue like the one JD made.

BTW, I only have one problem about the team's misplays...Tek's WP and passed ball in the 3rd. Those were lazy-ish; not so with JD, the pop-up in RF and Manny's play.

And I love Tek. But.....

Manilla - I do feel positive that Millar is back! We need him. We need everyone. But I also never EVER think we will lose until the very last out. Seriously. I can still remember when I was a kid, my little brother used to always turn to me and say, "Don't worry, it's the Red Sox!" And he was right :-)

Speaking of Bellhorn, ehem --- he had his first whiff for the Yankees (swinging) last night in Oakland. He didn't start, he was playing SS for the last 4 innings.
