Lurkers allowed! Wonderful. Many thanks. Dodgers go three strong righties, putting Jim Edmonds in a big spot this series, his play will make or break the Cubs. He hits with power as a Cub but that number is an outlier:
05: .533 SLG
06: .471
07: .403
08 (as a Padre): .233
08 (as a Cub): .568
He's posted a whopping .937 OPS as a Cub too, touching near his career highs where he was one of the Top 3 CFs in the NL. He had a .498 OPS as a Padre and .728 in 2007.
Weather gets a little colder, swing gets a little longer, he gets a little older?

This series could be a lot closer than people think. Yeah the Cubs won the series 5-2, but that was back in May/June
Total combined scoring in those games was 19-18, and in the 3 games at Wrigley, the Dodgers lost by 2, 2, and 1 run. At LA, the Dodgers lost by 1 and 2 runs.
Add in the fact that Lowe and Kuroda seem to own the Cubs, if Lowe wins game 1, this series could get very interesting soon.
Big question marks from Zambrano and Harden right now make the seeming Cubs starting pitching advantage a little off

I like the Dodgers because of the Sox ties(Lowe, Nomar, Manny), and the characters(Manny, Maddux, Kent, Torre)..not really a Lou Piniella fan, or Ted Lilly, so I'm pulling for the Dodgers.

I hope the Cubs walk Manny intentionally every single time he comes to the plate. I hope James Loney hits into so many double-plays as a result of manny being on 1st that he cries himself to sleep every night this week.

Didn't you hear? Manny's baserunning, speed, and fielding miraculously became + tools when he went to the NL.

It just scrolled across the bottom of ESPN that Furcal is expected to bat leadoff in the ALDS series - this is a definite improvement for the Dodgers, even if he is at 80% of what he was producing before his injury. This has the makings of an interesting series, to say the least.

Personally I wouldn't mind if Manny was trying to beat out a double play ball and landed akwardly on the bag. Torn ACL. NO 4 year contract.

Loved Torre's reaction to the question of whether he thought the Cubs were cursed.

Frat, the Sox brought in a priest, a rabbi, a minister, and all sorts of others religious figures to do the same in 03 (or 04, can't remember).

Except for a few rough patches he had a great career here. Shutting down Oakland in 03 is another fond memory I have of him

Alright, I'm going to start rooting for the D-Lowe no hitter right now. I agree though, it sucks without Nosemar in the lineup. Hope he makes it in during a double-switch.
Side Note, I had enough of the Frank TV commercials last year, did he get funny and I missed it?

Ahh yes, what a satisfying final pitch, capped off with the D-Lowe "crotch chop" that sent Tejada into tears. I will always have fond memories of that night.

Prince Fielder is bigger than him now. Can you imagine what Prince is going to look like 10 years after retirement?
Everyone here in LA correctly assumes that Manny is the reason they won the division, but I think some of the credit has to go to Torre.
Torre in LA playoffs..no Torre in NY...golf.
No rooting interest really other than I guess I wouldn't mind seeing a Wrigley / Fenway series.
