After being scratched from Friday's start and after a rain delay on Saturday, Dice-K will look to tune up for the playoffs with a win.
Easy does it. Let's get some practice winning done.

I needed some good news after last night's debacle.
There are 2 East Coast games on Fox this afternoon - Nats v. Philly and the other NY team in Boston.
Unbelievably SE VA (a hop, skip and a jump from DC) is getting the Boston feed. (At least that is what my cable guide is showing. Like I trust Fox.)
Woo hooo.

Anyone know who might be announcing this game?
It's my grandmothers first time going to a baseball game (shes 70) and she's making a sign to try and get on TV.
Thanks in advance.

Still need to get DiceK at least a little work. Short outing in the first game tomorrow, then Wake in the nightcap?
Wonder if the Yanks would throw Moose in the nightcap, figuring he'd have a better shot at win #20 against the PawSox?

The weather forecast for tomorrow is basically some form of rain every hour throughout the day. It ranges from rain, to showers, to few showers in the evening. How do they expect to get two games in tomorrow and who would you want to put out there on the field in those conditions.
Can you tell I've got tickets to the now 2nd game tomorrow? Just cancel the friggin' game.

They need to play some form of a game tomorrow because the regulars can't go 4 days without game action. I imagine they will play the regulars for 4-5 innings tomorrow in the first game then it turns into Fort Myers for the remainder of the day.

Here's the latest weather update from the Red Sox:
The current weather forecast in the vicinity of Fenway Park calls for the rain showers currently in the area to dissipate in the late morning hours. At this point, Meteorlogix predicts that relatively dry conditions are expected for the remainder of the day and evening.
The Fenway Park gates will open at the regularly scheduled time of 11:35 p.m. for the 1:35 p.m. day game with the Yankees, and the Red Sox expect that both games scheduled for Sunday will be played.
The ceremony to retire the uniform number of Johnny Pesky is scheduled to begin at approximately 1:15 p.m.
The night game between the Red Sox and Yankees is scheduled to start at 7:35 p.m. Tickets from Saturday’s rainout should be used for the Sunday night game.
This forecast is of course subject to change as the day progresses. Additional updates will be provided periodically.

Have the Sox definitively said that if either or both of these games are rained out, that they will not be made up on Monday?
I assume that's the case inasmuch as these games have no impact on the playoff races, but I haven't seen or heard anyone say that.

Having seen Damon do similar things twice before Sox-MFYs games at Fenway, and having been on the receiving end one of those times, it's clear that the Boston emotions remain raw for Johnny.
Similar to what Dog noted in the Pesky thread, I thought it was was pretty nice little tweak of the Yankees that the Sox noted the "classy" Joe Torre during the Pesky ceremonies.
I know that this game is meaningless, and the only things that really matter are avoiding injuries, tuning up DMat and getting Lowell and Drew some time (are they still playing?), but damn, it's nice to watch a Sox-Yankees game without the usual angst.
