Team: Lowell Spinners
Record: 40-33 (7 1/2 GA in Stedler Division; Lost 1-2 in First Round of NYPL Playoffs to Batavia)
The Lowell Spinners for the first time in their history made the playoffs, winning the Stedler Division in a walkover (as every other team finished under .500). While the Spinners did make the playoffs, It was a team of contrast. Often called "The Hitless Wonders", the team was second to worst in the league in Batting Average and OBP; while being 5th to worst in the league in Slugging and was 3rd to worst in the League in OPS. The team had a better time from the pitching standpoint, finishing 5th in the league in ERA, 3rd in the league in WHiP and 4th in the league in fewest walks allowed.
Most Valuable Player: Mitch Dening - The Australian Outfielder finished the season with a line of .321/.375/.471 with 18 walks (50 strikeouts). Mitch had 13 doubles, a team high 7 triples and 3 HRs; Mitch also led the team in Runs (35), Hits (77), Total Bases (113) and Games Played (62). Mitch was 9 for 16 in SB attempts. Mitch was 5th in the league in Batting Average, 8th in the league in Slugging Percentage and 8th in the league in OPS.
Most Valuable Pitcher: Kyle Weiland - Despite finishing with a 3-3 record, Kyle was not only the best pitcher (who was not promoted) on the Spinners... but quite possibly the best pitcher in the League. Kyle led the League with a 1.50 ERA and a 0.77 WHiP over 60 innings. Weiland gave up only 37 hits (1 HR) and only 10 walks while striking out 68. Kyle did have some struggles, hitting 8 batters in his 15 games. His defense behind him proved somewhat unkind as well, as 7 of the 17 runs he gave up were unearned.

Thanks. Fixed the sentence a bit, although in the context of the hitless wonders... I thought the sentence made some sense.
