Game Story

QUOTE
he Stockton Ports scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat the JetHawks 5-3 in game two of the California League Championship Series. The series moves to Lancaster Saturday evening, with Stockton ahead 2-0.

Lancaster took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth. With two outs, Daniel Nava walked, and Jon Still doubled into right-centerfield to drive home Nava. Lancaster made it 2-0 on a wild play in the top of the six. After a one out double, Yamaico Navarro was at second for Jon Still. Still grounded a ball up the middle that Ports second baseman tracked down in shallow center. Martinez caught Navarro in a rundown off of third. However, Navarro eluded the tag of Ports catcher Josh Donaldson on a play where the Ports argued he left the baseline.

Stockton picked up a run back in the bottom of the seventh to make the score 2-1.

The JetHawks scored a run in the top of the eighth on two walks, a wild pitch and a fielder’s choice for a 3-1 advantage.
