Bob Montgomery's Helmet Hat
The winning streak rolls on. The division and best record are both within reach.

Matt Harrison will play the role of batting tee.

And everyone in Texas is too busy watching football to notice.
Bob Montgomery's Helmet Hat
I guess everyone is watching football today.

Back in the baseball world, Rays are losing 3-0 after 7.
soxfaninyankeeland
Baldelli 2-run PH HR off BJ Ryan. 3-2 Jays, nobody out, top 9 .
ScubaSteveAvery
Ryan walked Aybar, so one on, no out.
ScubaSteveAvery
Ruggiano struck out, but Perez, who is PR for Aybar stole second. One out, man in scoring position. Navarro up.

Tie game, Navarro single, and Navarro out at second on advance. Fucking Jays.
soxfaninyankeeland
Wilkerson, Overbay and Rolen up against Wheeler in the bottom of the 9th.
soxfaninyankeeland
Gameday telling me that Scott Rolen was tagged out at home by the left fielder.
ScubaSteveAvery
Rolen at second, Zaun grounds to short, and I'm guessing it was bobbled or deep in the hole, but Rolen was thrown out at home. What a clusterfuck.

Edit: Gamecast said it was a groundball to short..but LF makes much more sense.

Wow, Kennedy and Karros on Fox both just said Pedroia's the MVP favorite. They're both epic morons, but interesting.

They are epic morons, but with Kinsler and Quentin both out it's an easy case to make.

Rays have the bases loaded in the 12th...

In play, out(s).

boo ya
Andrew
Carlos Pena flies out DEEP to the warning track in left.

On to the bottom of the 12th we go!

Balfour, who blew the game yesterday, on to pitch the bottom of the 12th.

C'man, Jays!
Andrew
Balfour strikes out Zaun and Travis Snider before allowing a single to Joe Inglett. Notoriously clutch hitter Marco Scutaro at the plate with Alex Rios on deck.

Scutaro taps out to the pitcher. On to the 13th.
Oil Can's Liver
Who is the moron keying in the game on Gameday? Gamecast? They have the pitchers all screwed up and have had so many errors I am done watching.

ZAUN!!!!!!!

WOOOOOO
ScubaSteveAvery
GREG FUCKING ZAUN BABY!

Walk off Grand Slam against Percival!

Jays win 7-4
simonus
unbelievable!
Andrew
Tampa Bay takes a 4-3 lead in the top of the 13th.

In the bottom of the 13th Troy Percival loads the based and allows a 2-out walk-off Grand Slam to Gregg Zaun. Toronto wins 7-4 in 13 innings.

Having the MFYs miss the playoffs will be great. And seeing them finish in 4th in the AL East will be the icing!

The Sox are winning the division.

Now that the Rays have lost in sickening, prolonged fashion, the Sox need to pull this out tonight. 1.5. Let's do it.

We're a-coming, bitches.

Surprised Crisp isn't leading off.

The over/under on Cash home runs tonight should be what, 3?
soxfaninyankeeland
Even with Cash in there, that's the best lineup they've had in a month.

Nearly 20 members of the team gathered around the clubhouse’s big-screen TV this afternoon to watch the dramatic finish to the Tampa Bay-Toronto game at Rogers Centre. Needless to say, the Sox were openly rooting against the Rays, although confidence in Gregg Zaun wasn’t exactly high prior to his game-winning grand slam. As soon as the ball cleared the fence, however, the room erupted in applause for the Toronto catcher.

Applause erupted in the room I was in as well rolling.gif

With the heavy rains outside in New England, a great night to stay in and watch baseball!

Andrew
Anyone know what (PERSONAL REASONS) Youkilis missed yesterdays game about?
bellyofthebeast
The Twins just lost again which really hurts their chances of the catching the Rays for the WC.
sachmoney
Meltdown! Meltdown! Meltdown!

Let's go SOX! WIN THE DIVISION!
ToeKneeArmAss
Just reporting in from the Texas bash. Not a great crowd for the tailgate, but Bosoxen is drinking for ten men. And his girlfriend is keeping pace. Should make for a fun night.

Sunny and warm - low 90's I'd guess. Wind's blowing in a bit, not ideal for the knuckleball but we'll see. Seems we always get Wakefield for these outings.

In any event, SoSH South will be in the house and representing. Last night' it felt like a Red Sox home crowd. Expecting more of the same tonight.

amh03
C'mon guys - let's get some runs early for Tim's 500th game. He deserves a comfortable win. Pretty amazing that he's only the 2nd pitcher in Sox history to reach this milestone (first being Bob Stanley).
Pearl Wilson
What? Drew may be back soon and he only feels stiffness when he runs or takes a pitch inside? Thanks, Heidi, that's good to know.

Pedal to the metal, guys and head for first. Kick ass, Wakes - you deserve this to be a win. I can feel October baseball coming right around the corner.

GO SOX - WIN TODAY!
Andrew
Josh Hamilton said he thinks Pedroia is more deserving of MVP and hopes he wins it.
rembrat
Top of the 4th and it's tied at 2 between the Angels and White Sox..
Steve Dillard
This 500th appearance wouldn't have been such a long time coming if Francona hadn't misusing him as a starter, instead of closer like Kennedy did all these years.
Andrew
Boston sucks.
FelixMantilla
By far Papi's worst season in a Red Sox uniform.
rembrat
Awesome innings from Timmeh
cwright
Well, it looks like Wakefield likes the Texas heat.
I am NOT impressed so far by the at-bats against Harrison. What the hell is wrong with Papi?

(fake edit: Well, ok, Bay's at-bat was pretty good.)
