The winning streak rolls on. The division and best record are both within reach.
Matt Harrison will play the role of batting tee.
And everyone in Texas is too busy watching football to notice.

Baldelli 2-run PH HR off BJ Ryan. 3-2 Jays, nobody out, top 9 .

Sep 6 2008, 02:21 PM
Ryan walked Aybar, so one on, no out.
ScubaSteveAvery
Sep 6 2008, 02:25 PM
Ruggiano struck out, but Perez, who is PR for Aybar stole second. One out, man in scoring position. Navarro up.
Tie game, Navarro single, and Navarro out at second on advance. Fucking Jays.

Wilkerson, Overbay and Rolen up against Wheeler in the bottom of the 9th.

Gameday telling me that Scott Rolen was tagged out at home by the left fielder.
ScubaSteveAvery
Sep 6 2008, 02:36 PM
Rolen at second, Zaun grounds to short, and I'm guessing it was bobbled or deep in the hole, but Rolen was thrown out at home. What a clusterfuck.
Edit: Gamecast said it was a groundball to short..but LF makes much more sense.

Carlos Pena flies out DEEP to the warning track in left.
On to the bottom of the 12th we go!
Balfour, who blew the game yesterday, on to pitch the bottom of the 12th.
C'man, Jays!
Andrew
Sep 6 2008, 03:48 PM
Balfour strikes out Zaun and Travis Snider before allowing a single to Joe Inglett. Notoriously clutch hitter Marco Scutaro at the plate with Alex Rios on deck.
Scutaro taps out to the pitcher. On to the 13th.

Tampa Bay takes a 4-3 lead in the top of the 13th.
In the bottom of the 13th Troy Percival loads the based and allows a 2-out walk-off Grand Slam to Gregg Zaun. Toronto wins 7-4 in 13 innings.

Nearly 20 members of the team gathered around the clubhouse’s big-screen TV this afternoon to watch the dramatic finish to the Tampa Bay-Toronto game at Rogers Centre. Needless to say, the Sox were openly rooting against the Rays, although confidence in Gregg Zaun wasn’t exactly high prior to his game-winning grand slam. As soon as the ball cleared the fence, however, the room erupted in applause for the Toronto catcher.

Just reporting in from the Texas bash. Not a great crowd for the tailgate, but Bosoxen is drinking for ten men. And his girlfriend is keeping pace. Should make for a fun night.
Sunny and warm - low 90's I'd guess. Wind's blowing in a bit, not ideal for the knuckleball but we'll see. Seems we always get Wakefield for these outings.
In any event, SoSH South will be in the house and representing. Last night' it felt like a Red Sox home crowd. Expecting more of the same tonight.

C'mon guys - let's get some runs early for Tim's 500th game. He deserves a comfortable win. Pretty amazing that he's only the 2nd pitcher in Sox history to reach this milestone (first being Bob Stanley).
