So here's hoping we'll see Kotsay at 1B and Cora where he belongs: on the bench. It might be fun to see a catcher who has been known to hit some bombs on occasion too (ie Ross)...

So I just found out that 1) The game is on WGN so I can watch a bit at work today, and 2) I can listen to MLB games on my phone (thank you Verizon) so that even if my corporate masters block it on the internet, I've got audio.
Lets see the Kid get 5 or 6 clean innings and pray for the pen......

In what world is Mark Kotsay supposed to bat ahead of Jason Bay? Kotsay's highest two seasons of OPS were 829 and 811. By comparison, Bay's lowest two are 745 and this season's 894. 894!

Francona said he's taking a lot of grief from both Pedroia and David Ortiz over the lineup, Pedroia who keeps saying, "It's about time" and Ortiz, who jokingly said he will retire.

The Yankees had a chance in the ninth, putting runners on first and second with no outs off closer B.J. Ryan. But struggling slugger Alex Rodriguez grounded to third base and Bautista stepped on the bag, then fired across the diamond to get A-Rod by a step. Cody Ransom then flew out to finish Ryan’s 25th save.
