I don't really follow the minor leagues, but I was wondering if there were any players I should pay special attention to. They'll be playing the Harrisburg Senators.
Thanks!

Lars Anderson and Daniel Bard. Argenis Diaz is supposed to have awesome defense, but I haven't seen him play yet..

Josh Reddick would be another one to keep an eye on as well as relief pitcher Richie Lentz, Aaron Bates and 3rd baseman Jorge Jimenez.

Thanks! I've been to Hadlock once before, when they were still part of the Florida organization, and to several other minor league stadiums/games (PawSox, Hagerstown, Frederick). It is such fun, I always forget, in the rush to get Sox tickets. I'm taking my two little nephews -- 2 and 4 1/2 and I know they'll have a blast (hopefully more than than when they go with their Dad to Yankee stadium).

Def have a "Sea Dog Biscuit". Very tasty iced cream sandwich. Your kids may like Iggy Suarez, he is a fan (and kids) favorite. Kids love "Slugger" the team mascot too.
The staff of the Sea Dogs not only has an outstanding record of developing major league talent, but they also have developed one of the most family friendly ballparks in baseball.

SoSH member Jack Sox is an intern for the Sea Dogs, you should PM him to see if he can get the 4 1/2 year old on the field to race Slugger around the bases between innings.

We're already on that, Rip. Good call.
Watching Rip's son run the bases earlier this season was a highlight of my baseball summer.

If you are into beer at all, grab a Geary's Summer Ale at one of the kiosks. Good stuff.

Dude, you were as close as anyone I've ever seen to putting it in one of those tiny holes <heh>. Still, your performance, as good as it was, pales in comparison to a cute little kid running the bases against Slugger.

Yeah, I guess.
Guin, be sure to visit the grille behind 3rd base to get a piping hot chicken sandwich. Great stuff. I heartily second the recommendation for a Sea Dog Biscuit and the local brews.

To get a Geary's Summer, you will need to go to the microbrew room underneath the first base stands. They have many other tasty offerings there, as well.

I did this a few years ago! One of my three tosses bounced 15 feet in front of the board, the other one was tossed down the right field foul line, and the third one hit the bottom of the setup. The inning before, someone fouled the ball off and hit the truck anyways!
But Hadlock is a good time, and the Sea Dog Biscuits are great. I must have had about 15. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks y'all -- we're working on the bases bit if that's possible. And Sea Biscuits sound perfect, it's actually my birthday on Sunday so we'll be hitting as many treats as we all can stand!
And I love Gearys. My family has been going to Maine for the summers (and Mom now lives there) for 25 years. I always get Gearys with the lobstah!

How does arranging the base running work? I'm due to bring my son to Portland... and that's one of the things that always enjoy watching the kids do. Is there an age cutoff? Mine is 8... Just curious...

Last time I was there, they had the room closed and the microbrew taps (like ten of them), just outside the doorway there and to the right.

That is a usual spot for them. Shipyard is also offering their beers on the other side of the concourse in a mirror location.

Yeah, that's where I found it. It's literally the first vendor kiosk you see when you walk into the stadium. Pretty convenient (and a welcome change from Fenway, where you need to hire a sherpa to find the quality beer).

Ahh, Hadlock - I haven't been there in a long time. It was a lot of fun to pound on the metal bleachers in the GA section though!
This might not be the right place to put it, but I have four tickets to two Sea Dogs games next weekend (they'll be playing Harrisburg again, but IN Harrisburg.) Four for the 22nd and four for the 24th. They're free, if anyone's interested. Like Guinevere, I was hoping to get a look at some of the kids down on the farm, but I'll be busy all weekend. PM if interested.
As for the Senators, Zimmerman should be pitching Sunday. He's a pretty decent pitching prospect for the Nats.
