“I’m going to get out of this town,” Nick said.
“Yes,” said George. “That’s a good thing to do.”
“I can’t stand to think about him waiting in the room and knowing he’s going to get it. It’s too damned awful.”
“Well,” said George, “you better not think about it.”

Okay boys. You've shown that you can smack down on bad teams. It's time to unleash the beast that is Jon Lester. I could go for a little 8 innings, 4 hits, no run action from him. Ellsbury continues his hot streak, Papi goes yard to shut us all up, and J. Bay goes 3-4 with 4 rbi's in a beat down that has Ozzie fuming. Keep the momentum going. Keep the pressure on a TB team that had the tables turned on them last night, WIN TONIGHT.

I'm in Panama and my Cable System seems to always get me NESN despite what the EI package shows. Trust me, I have never been more grateful than today for that. Of all the away commentators I have had to watch in Red Sox broadcasts (including Kay & Co.) Harreslon us the absolute worst, between his horrid homer run call (including his cheering the ball to "get back"), his "He gone" K call, and his constant "good guys" and "we" in reference to the White Sox I culs be driven up the wall this weekend, especially since I ill probably be able to catch 2 of th 3 games.

It cannot be said enough times. I cannot beleive we are posting a comment like this about a game involving Jon Lester.

Remember last year when we went into Chicago and people were questioning how good the team was? Yeah, they left Chicago with a 4-game beatdown by a combined score of 45-7.
I wouldn't mind that again.

Going Saturday and Mon.... Hopefully we can replicate the beatdown we gave the "Dirty" Southtowners last year. Chicago's pen has been getting overworked lately...it would be nice to get into the pen early tonight and set the stage for the remainder of the series.

08-08-08 and playing the ChiSox...
I can remember attending "The New England Boat Show" at the Prudential Center with my family when I was a little kid. It must have been 68' or '69. I was 8 or 9 years old. Yaz and The Hawk were the featured celebrity guests. They had a big pool in the middle of the hall where Yaz and Hawk did a fly fishing demo. My older sister was there too, and ended up getting Yaz's autograph. Just being the brother of someone that got Yaz's autograph made me a celebrity in my neighborhood. Too bad The Hawk turned out to be such an insufferable dickweed.
Anyway, every time there is a chance I may have to listen to Harrelson it takes me back to that day. August 8, 2008 makes me think of Yaz, and back to that day too. Funny, the fact that those 2 guys didn't run hard on every ground ball does nothing to diminish that warm and fuzzy memory.

I loved watching the Hawk hit long flies over the Wall myself.
He could never replace Tony C, but he was still fun to watch for a few years.
That being said, I hate listening to him call games.

Mike Lowell has never slugged higher than Jason Bay's career SLG with the exception of 2003. Bay has always had a higher OBP as well. Having him rot down at #6 is frustrating.
The lineup construction is a bit overrated though, so we shouldn't be overly concerned.
