not liking our chances against the King... That being said, the M's offense is anemic and we may only need 2 or 3 to win.

If we're going to play a split squad lineup, it might as well be against the M's.
my guess:
Ellsbury
Cora
Youkilis
Manny
Casey
Moss
Coco
Cash
Lowrie

Exactly.
With Lowell struggling, this is a perfect day to start Youks at third and Casey at first. If that doesn't happen, Tito's not doing his job.
Drew kills Hernandez so he has to start. And Moss in left isn't a bad idea in place of either Ellsbury or Crisp. Manny's swinging the bat well and has to be in there at DH.
Lowrie has to be in there. I don't care if Cora bats lefthanded or not but I fear Tito will use this game as an excuse to give Cora yet another start. That would make Baby Jesus cry.

Get it together kid, show you belong and kick their ass. Back him up with some offense and solid D, guys - you really do need this win going into the MFY series. Bring it - win it.

Lowell looked better last night than he had in previous games, though, so maybe he's coming out of it. Meanwhile Youk has come off of his power surge, so maybe he should be the one to sit for a day?

True; another bad game and the Rockies might not think he's enough for Fuentes:

Yeah, good point, I could live with that. But either way, get Casey some swings against this guy.

Then again, that could mean that we'll have a Cora sighting against the MFYs.

Terry Francona said Manny Ramirez showed up this morning and said his right knee was sore,an overnight development that the manager said caught him by surprise. The trainers had not communicated any issue to Francona after the game.
"He showed up this morning, I wasn't ready for that,'' Francona said. "He said his right knee hurts.''
Francona then joked, "The (expletive) jaywalking, if you do it right, you won't hurt your knee.''
In any event, Kevin Youkilis will be hitting in Ramirez's No. 4 hole, Sean Casey will DH and Jacoby Ellsbury will be in left field against Felix Hernandez, the Venezuelan right-hander who is the Mariners' best pitcher.
Francona said he had planned on using Casey as DH, anyway, but had envisioned Ramirez in left and Ellsbury in center. Coco Crisp, 1 for 11 against Hernandez in his career, was not scheduled to play, but now will be in center.
Francona elected to keep Jed Lowrie at short instead of Alex Cora, who might have expected to play a day game after a night game. The manager has now started Lowrie in five straight games and praised the way he has performed. He's batting .385 (5 for 13) with 3 RBIs and has played well in the field.

Despite not having Manny tonight, I like this line up. After the last two nights, I don't expect anything from Tek at the plate, Ijust want him to do a good job with Buchholz. Hopefully Lowrie continues to stay hot. It's just a huge lift to the top of the order when they don't have that pressure of five or six hitting for nine. I think we would've definitely seen Lowell or someone have the day off if Manny wasn't hurt. I do think that this could be a very effective line up.
I really only have on comment on the Mariners line up...it looks like Clement is still ailing from his nail injury. I suspect he would be in the line up today if he wasn't.

Ramirez told reporters his knee has been bothering him for about a week.
Asked if he would be ready for the Yankees series, which begins Friday, Ramirez said, "I don't know. I'm day-to-day at this point."
Earlier in the quote Tito said the trainers hadn't brought up a knee injury with him....Manny might want to let the training staff know he was having knee issues, you know so he could get treatment on it....thats what they are there for.
