NFL responds on Daboll

QUOTE
Our security department re-interviewed Brian Daboll on Wednesday and he has no recollection of a conversation with Matt Walsh about the Rams’ walk-through practice.

Look guys, can we at least TRY to post intelligently in this forum? I think we've been pretty good this week in the midst of all the news that's gone down, but PLEASE try to keep the comments intelligent.

Here's the crux of the statement for me:

QUOTE
"Even if such a conversation occurred, it would not be a violation of NFL rules. Matt Walsh was authorized to be in the stadium to perform his job duties along with other members of the Patriots’ video department, members of the Rams’ video department, and other people preparing for the Super Bowl.

So if it wasn't in violation of NFL rules, why the need to speak to Daboll?

I think because of the conflicting statements. The League apparently interviewed all of the coaches from that time period, and Walsh said something that contradicted what Daboll had already told them, namely that Walsh told Daboll what the Rams were up to in their walkthrough. Turns out even if Daboll had corroborated what Walsh said it still wouldn't have been a big deal, but one of them is lying.

Well, actually Daboll just says he doesn't remember. Wiggle room.

Or Daboll doesn't remember talking to Walsh for five minutes six years ago.
