With the shuttering of Grantland I'm out my 2-3x/week NFL podcast.  That's okay, as fun as Mays and Barnwell are, I was looking for something a little more substantive anyway.

What are the best NFL and Patriots podcasts out there?
What is the angle of the podcast?
  What is the vibe?

Here's one from me:
Move the Sticks
Synopsis: Two former pro scouts contribute their knowledge on all things NFL and NFL draft.

Hosts/Personalities: Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks -- Frequent guest appearances by Brian Billick and Mike Smith

Typical segments: Top 5 QBs, top draft prospects, revisiting old scouting reports, day in the life of a scout, break-down of upcoming/recent games, look inside NFL evaluation process

Angle: 100% the scout's perspective.

What I like: No hot takez, look inside the scouting process, i think they're honest in their rankings and evaluations, cover things you won't hear in most mainstream podcasts, & get a scouts perspective.  Like the incorporation of the college and draft stuff.

What I don't like: They don't cover much in-game strategy.  They pretty much always say nice things and they don't get too critical.  Hosts can be a little too general and a little too vanilla.  Don't care much for the Billick segments.

Other: NFL Network hosted...who I try and not support...

--------------

There was recently an ESPN podcast people were saying had the most informed scout in the biz but I can't find it.  Can anyone remind me?

Yes, SF121, I'm going to give ITP a try.

I'm sure this could go into Omar but I think it makes more sense here.

ITP is absolutely awesome. Give it a listen, like now. It's helped my football knowledge take the next step from last season to this season. Can't thank the people enough behind making it possible.

Would it be bad if to give the podcast I do, on the side? My apologies if that's the case, and please edit if so. It's more for honestly fantasy stuff, and humor. The semi-frequent mock ads about Draft Kings and Fan Duel alone are worthy it. Comedic gold.

Breakdowns aren't so much there, unless I do them, which rarely happens, but criticality is where need be, and heavily emphasized. Worth a listen; I'm their statsgirl, and it's long, in case you've got an extra long time to kill. It's called the BS Big Show, an NFL overall podcast, breaking down news in the NFL of various sorts (discipline, injuries, etc.), every game the prior week, and then a big four of the upcoming week with predictions and reasons. It's part of the CLW83 network (where there's also an MLB podcast, called Touch 'em All, among others) currently with 256 episodes, comes out typically every Wednesday. Cast of characters are interesting, you have a top 10 MLB.com blogger who went to almost every ballpark this year, a 4-time Jeopardy! champion, etc. If you want a listen to the last show, done for Week 8, it's here: http://www.clw83.com/2015/10/29/the-bs-big-show-256/ Apologies for my low voice in advance. Would greatly appreciate feedback, both positive and negative, for not only my sake, but those of others about what is good, and what sucks.

I really like ESPN Football today. Used to be better with Ross Tucker and Podvader on it. Still good. Matt Williamson is the best in the business.

Ross Tuckers podcast is okay, but eh. When the two were combined it was the best.

Give anything Matt Waldman or Dan Hatman appear on a listen.

Also, the ESPN scout to seek out is Louis Riddick, who is hands-down the best analyst in the business today.

The Football Educator, often featuring former Broncos GM Ted Sundquist and ex-players like LeCharles Bentley, is another excellent listen each week.

The Over the Cap podcast is a must listen for contract / salary cap talk.

If you care about Bay Area sports, Tim Kawakami's podcast is a good, short listen. Likewise, if you like LA sports and can sort 30 minutes out of a 4 hour show, few people do college football talk better than Petros Papadakis on the Petros & Money show, which is on KLAC. They break their podcasts down into interviews, so the football ones are easy to sort out.

I already miss Mays & Barnwell on the Grantland NFL podcast.

ITP- I know it's already been said, but I learn something new every week.

For fantasy football info and game preview/ recaps, the Audible is pretty solid.

I've listened to handful and have whittled it down to these two. This thread is great, I'll try a few of these other ones out.

Thanks for the Over the Cap suggestion. Subscribed.

I wonder what'll happen with Mays & Barnwell's career. Although Barnwell took off more podcasts that anyone should while getting paid, he and Mays had good chemistry. The early Grantland NFL podcasts were truly excellent.

Barnwell could well wind up at HBO, no?

I was thinking SI & MMQB, but sure. He could write for the new site Simmons is cooking up. There'll be all of his former editors there already.
