Nava is a great name for a dog. I mean, we're on a site named after Sam Horn...
Nava’s OK. But I really pushed hard for Koji or Xander.
Okay, it's not the finest video ever, given iPhone quality, my lousy seats, and my shaky photography skills... but damn, it's still fun. And kind of a cool different angle of Machado flailing away...
Didn’t know where to put this, Ryan Brasier is calling in to MLBN in the next hour. Don’t know how much they’ll do the “get the bleep back in the box”, but they’ll have to I think.
No mention about GTF back in the box, but nice interview. His head was tilted to his left for the whole interview, as is tradition. Vasgersian asked him about it and he said he's kind of been doing it all his life, doesn't know why. He’s taking his son to the Celtics game tonight and the Pats game Sunday. Tickets most likely gratis.
I like how Price kind of strategically placed himself on the home plate side of the dugout so he could be first to the mound. He's sprinting. He clearly wanted to be first.
We really won this shit didn’t we? A few days removed from the decisive game it all feels like a nice dream that I’m not ready to wake up from.
Same user has a homemade Elliot Rogers hype video so be careful about feeding him traffic.
Just noticed that the Dodgers got the "Congratulations 2018 World Series Champions Boston Red Sox" into the electronic message board above the lower deck even before most of the players got as far as the mound.
Going by hockey rules, it was more like 11-2-1
Awesome. I could literally watch that all day.
lol poor Nunez. He’s trying...
And Lol at Tilt throwing Holt out of the club at the :33 mark
Mookie all year seems to be the one who’s too small to get into the inner circle.
Brock is all “what the hell, I’ve got tenure, bitch!”
I got to meet Manny Machado tonight here in Maui. Bizarre world we live in. His swing and miss while dropping to a knee has brought me great joy this past week. FWIW, nice guy, very chill, with the wife (?) and a friend.
One week anniversary, people.
I was happy living my life not knowing that Manny Machado was a nice guy. I choose to believe he tortures puppies.
Eh, it's easy to be all nice while you're in Hawaii. Screw him.
Totally agree. I'm pretty sure he's still a raging asshole.
Oh that was an INT he he looks up
Played against plenty and with a few guys that were nice guys in real life and assholes between the lines.
This saying comes to mind “you are what you do when it matters most”.*
So I guess that makes Machado either an asshole or a strikeout.
* my google-fu is coming up empty. I thought it was a Jack Ryan (author, SAS soldier) quote, but can’t find it referenced.
Tilt's gotta be as strong as an ox. I don't see him push at all, and Holt takes like five steps backwards to recover.
Just watched the ninth inning again.
Just noticed that Sale actually shook off Vaz at least once. It was weird to see. He never does that. He was locked in.
The Game 3 thread still with like 50% more posts and views than this one. Crazy. And this one just passed Game 4's thread too.
Game 3 went 118 innings, didn’t it?
It was a boring game. Except for winning the World Series.
I understand the reasons it went long, but still seems nuts.
Figure more people would have gone to bed, huh? I couldn’t ever do that during a World Series game (easy to say being in California), but even if I did, I wouldn’t be able to sleep and would be sneaking the TV next to the bed on. But then, would I be posting? I’ve just about wound down to the point now where I realize there is no game tonight. When is Truck Day?
mlbn is carrying this tonight.
I’m in the central time zone and think exactly the same.
This amazing, magical Red Sox year is about to finally end, and the 2018 Red Sox will never all play together again.
They were the best I've ever seen, and it's sad to realize that we will probably never see another team as great and as dominant as this one.
But flags fly forever. Thanks 2018 Red Sox, I'll be looking back fondly on this team for the rest of my life.
This morning mlbn played the four WS games the Sox won, the international broadcast. I know there are many of you who don't like Vasgersian and Martinez, but their commentary, esp. Buck Martinez' was so full of information about both teams. Before they did something, he anticipated what might be the thinking of each manager, and was almost always prescient. He was really good at pointing out how many on the roster were the product of the farm system, even though DDski had decided to trade quite a few to build the winning team.
Anyway, I wanted to say that next Saturday, mlbn is hyping a "World Series" film. It is scheduled to be on at 7pm, and I think it will be repeated often. I have no idea if it will be worth watching.
Hello Grey Eagle and Inside the Parker! Such a joy to start off the New Year with sweet SOSHers and fine memories. Though every championship is dulcet, and it was after 2004 that at age 52, I knew that I could truly die happy, GREY EAGLE's words express my thoughts and feelings exactly:
Tomorrow night (Tuesday, 2/12, 9 pm), mlbn is airing a special on Alex Cora. I think it is called The Making of a Champion, or something like that. I haven't checked yet, but those specials are usually repeated in the middle of the night, if one wants to record it. (Edit: repeats at midnight.)
I heard a description yesterday and it’s supposed to include parts about Cora’s roots in Puerto Rico. Maybe he brought the trophy back there like he strongly requested at the on field celebration after game 5? I found that similar shows about Ortiz (Dominican) and Luis Tiant (Cuba) were really enhanced by showing their diverse backgrounds. Looking forward to it.
Oh yea, had a parade and everything:
