Eovaldi is a beast and deserved better.
I don’t want to see Ian Kinsler play another game this series. 18 hours to go...

I think this was a brilliant performance, and unforgettable game, we got players playing hurt and not publicizing it (possibly including Mookie) we pushed the Dodgers to the wall literally, we forced them to use (virtually) EVERY pitcher in their deck, and NOBODY has given up. The strike zone was th worst I have ec ever seen and it cost the hitters more than the pitcher who is a hero. It is great baseball and I wish we had won it , but we have been winning all year and we are STILL a GAME AHEAD of the DODGERS and we re UNBeATABLe when our hitters get out of their slump (which is part of baseball, u just hate to see it in the Series) we WINEED to shake this off and kick off a win tomorrow night ..

Well, that sucked. Thankfully, even if that felt like 2 Games, it still only counts as one. Both teams are going to be wiped tomorrow, too. Not just the Sox. Eovaldi is still a hero.

I don't think we see another performance this terrible from the Sox offense. I'm going to remain optimistic.

Pesky held the ball in '46

    Kinsler should have in '18.

Are there any silver linings here? I guess still up 2-1 is pretty good. Weird to think that if things go wrong now the turning point in the series against the Red Sox would have all started with a clutch JBJ home run.

Despite this disappointment, the Sox have two wins, two more home games, and two chances to steal a game or two in LA, Bats needs to wake up tomorrow.

So most of us thought / wanted Evo to start game 3, to line him up for a potential game 7. That’s basically what happened tonight.
None of Barnes, Brasier, Kelly, or Kimberly threw a lot of pitches so their availability for game 4 won’t be affected.
We’re up 2 games to 1 here. Still in good shape

Our key relievers didn’t get overly taxed. Edro gives us 5 solid tomorrow and we are ok. Gonna need some innings from Pom at some point though.

And I start Holt at 2nd from here on.

Can you imagine if we didn't have 2004 (and 2007 and 2013) in the bag? Time once again to be grateful for those miracles, now we start game 4 with a 2-1 lead. Go Sox.

Series of bad calls by Cora in this game... too quick to pull Porcello, wasted several potential ABs by JDM, wasted Benny... had to play several innings without those two, as well as Pearce, Devers, Moreland...

I am going to play this straight and simply agree. I would add that EdRo didn't throw much either. The Sox big bats are due too. I am actually looking forward to Rich Hill throwing to Martinez and even Mookie.

On the other hand, if you think the Sox lost the series tonight, you are probably better off doing something else. I cannot imagine watching games like this with a clear sense of doom. I mean, I get that bad things can happen and they can lose. However, I enjoy the games a lot more thinking of them winning.

Shitty loss ...but it counts as one loss. not 2 not 3. Up 2-1 is a good spot, If they can't win 2 more from here then they don't deserve a ring.

kinsler's side arm flip on every ground ball he fields always scares me. He seems to throw it very quickly after fielding,...after he slipped tonight, he continued to try the quick throw off balance. Not good

Pulling JDM was the one move I'd like changed. The Sox were anemic because of the Dodgers pitching for the first 9 innings, then anemic because of their own lineup for the last 9.

Because if this game went 9-11 innings or whatever, our pen was rested for tomorrow anyway. We used the guys but they weren't overworked. But with this game being extraordinarily long, if we had to start burning EdRo/Pom/Sale/etc. for extra innings - we'd be fucked.

Roberts out managed Cora today...but Eovaldi helped make sure that they will be okay tomorrow.

we absolutely are hte better team. The Dodger lineup is absolute trash.

we threw away this one which really hurts in the World Series. but it isn't a death knell just yet.

I can't remember a single game where pulling Ortiz for a faster runner late in the game worked out well, but I can remember about a dozen games where a noodle bat kept coming up in key spots in extra innings. Unless JD's injury was more a factor than we realize...I've never liked that type of move, although I can always understand it.

Cora mortgaged the whole game for one chance to win. He got it. And Kinsler fucked it up.

After that they were in shambles. They were heavy underdogs but an epic performance made it seem interesting. We played them 9 against 14 with a pitcher batting and a seriously damaged lineup for 8 innings against their prime lineup.

Everything Cora did was to try to get the tie when down 1-0 and then the one chance to win. He got it. He managed his players to a fucking 3-0 lead in the World Series.

But he didn’t count on a player that gives us nothing but defense not being able to make a routine fucking play.

Cora managed like a fucking winner. This was Belichick going for the win on fourth down calling the perfect play, having it be wide open, and then Ian Fucking Kinsler dropping the fucking ball. Fuck. He didn’t even have to throw it.

I don’t know how this team recovers. We’ll see, but I feel like I did after game 6 in 1986. I just dont know how you come back from that.
