That's why I took the day off. Taking my friend's elderly mom to lunch, donating blood, watching Sox kick ass.

    Yes! Let's do this.

I am on a plane back to LA from NYC. Out of my head with excitement as I am taking the wife and kids to the game tonight. All of our first world series experience. Mr. Rick FTW.

We will be loud and proud in the crowd.

Rick Porcello, with lots of rest, is going to be very good tonight. Of that I am very confident. And I would think that they will eventually get to this Buehler kid, though I do appreciate that he put up great numbers in the second half of the season and did very well in game 7.

    Worries/factors:

    - who sits?

    - is JDM good to start in RF? If yes, I assume JBJ sits given that Beni is a better hitter; but who knows

    - Holt has to start against the righty, correct?

    - Assume Moreland too, but who knows with that Hammy

    - Eovaldi in the 8th...I mean, Cora is shitting aces but I really would prefer to use Barnes or Brasier for one inning and then have Eovaldi for 6-7 in game 4; again, Cora is near flawless so there's that

    - Is this the game when Mookie finally flashes some power? I think yes

Also I believe this is the exact amount of mojo needed to win Game three of the World Series tonight (forgive the resolution, i add moments from each game and it's getting large - only so much you can upload on shitty plane wifi, I'll redo when I land):

Here's my crazy idea for the day, and if Cora touches it, it will turn to gold:
Start Beni, Mookie and JDM in the OF, but shift JDM and Beni with every batter so that Beni plays the pull side and JDM plays the opposite field.

My wife has concert tickets to a band she really likes tonight. I said I'd go with her weeks ago. It's a relatively classy affair.

What is the acceptable amount of checking my phone in a theater?

You mean for your wife texting you to let you know that she is enjoying her night out alone? Not more than once, that might distract from the game.

Rick dominates tonight with his arm and contributes a RBI or 2 with his bat.
JBJ makes a sensational catch in the late innings.
The bats continue to Do Damage.

A band? Like rock band? The entire crowd will spend most of their night on their phones uploading to MyFace or InstaChat. You'll look totally with it, just don't let anyone know you are on SOSH.
But "band" and "theater" and "classy affair" seem to not belong together.

It's a weird one, for sure. It's some kind of jazz remix thing that does new spins on older songs. They were founded in Boston apparently, so maybe they'll cut it short for the game.

I like it when the baseball team that I root for because I was born in the geographic area where the team plays beats another team from a different geographic area with which I have zero connection.

P.S. DrewDawg - you are 2 wins from first ballot Game Thread Starter HOF. You'll still get in on your own merit with a loss but why leave it to chance? Finish this off, please.

That's a shitload of good karma. But I think FullKarma says none, except during an intermission after any opening act, and until the house lights come up after the show. BeThere with your wife. And show the talent some respect. Given the length of games, you'll get most of the game.

(If they win you get the credit. If they lose, you didn't want to know anyway).

Apparently Cora slept on the right side of his hotel bed last night (I think Abraham reported this). WTF is he doing? Everyone knows the left side is more conducive to a good nights sleep.

If the Sox want to salvage any shot of surviving the postseason they need to consider a change at the helm. Cora, with lineups that the main board cannot understand and pitching changes that baffle even the most astute play by play experts, is running this 108 regular season juggernaut into the ground. Its agonizing to watch.

DD, please make a change before its too late!

Guy on MLB Radio said the Sox are a “nightmare matchup” for Buehler. He throws a ton of sliders, in the zone, and the Sox crush sliders.

Which means Buehler has to go away from his best pitch or the Sox should be well-positioned.

Years ago didn't Tom Kelly have Kirby Puckett wandering around various parts of the the infield during a late-inning scenario vs. the Sox?

    Do Damage!!

The guys on the Dodgers' flagship radio station were confident in their victory tonight because Walker Buehler has the same number of letters in his name as Orel Hershiser, along with some other numerological omens, which is typical of the kind of "analysis" we're treated to in LA

The emotional side of me wants to see Mookie of the Year at second base, but the logical side of me says it doesn't fucking matter because the Robbins will be going to the bullpen in the 3rd inning anyway
