This is a picture of the Jets defense last season. The WR at the top of the image is Calvin Johnson. They didn't play many snaps in triple coverage, but they did it enough, with terrible CBs. Rex does some wacky shit.

That's hilarious.

Not for nothing, but the Jets lost that game 24-17.  They held Megatron to 2 catches, but predictably the rest of the Lions passing offense benefited accordingly -- Stafford threw for almost 300 yards and 2 TDs, Tate had 8 catches and 116 yards, etc.

This is what's always been so tough against Brady, the opposition game plans to remove one element so they adjust on the fly and attack the other areas more effectively than most other teams out there.  Tripling Gronk with Brady at QB could be interesting, but if the front 4 can get pressure on him all things go out the window...

Honestly, I hope they go the extra mile to take Gronk out of the game. It opens up space for Edelman, Amendola and Lewis to move the ball between the 20s and in the redzone it almost doesn't matter since his size, strength and hands make him a matchup nightmare no matter how much coverage you roll his way. Against Pittsburgh Gronk had 5 catches, 3 of them in the redzone. The Pats moved the ball deeply into Steeler territory repeatedly without even involving him. Brady is good enough to exploit what the defense will give him to take Gronk out of the action.

No chance in hell that BB is game planning based off of anything Rex says during press conferences.

When the Pats #2 option if we want to call Edelman that is what the Pats have to  beat the Bills with because they triple cover Gronk. I am sure they will take that every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Oh I agree they'll take that any day, because the Patriots "option 2 or 3" are still great.  I wasn't saying that the proposed defense would work, I'm just saying I'm looking forward to seeing what BB comes up with to counter it.  That's the fun part.  They don't just run their standard offense week to week.

And yeah BB wouldn't plan on it based on the press conf.  But he'd plan on it based on seeing them do it in other games (like the image above), wouldn't he?

By the way, Megatron played that game hurt (ankle, if I recall) and was severely impacted -- putting three guys on what was essentially a decoy was simply idiotic.

But, yeah, Rex is a genius....

Schofield tells some funny jokes. This is the punchline to one of my favorites. Any guesses on what happened here? (No peeking on the site for the actual answer, that would be no fun).

It's pretty sad when you have 5 offensive lineman blocking 3 defenders and a guy still blows by you and crushes your QB.

He's down there with the worst. Certainly I think he's about the last guy I'd choose if I want to win a Super Bowl. If, on the flip, I'm in Jacksonville and want to create some artificial buzz, I might think of hiring him.

One can quibble and point out his good qualities, of which he has a few -- but whatev...the bottom line is: would anyone argue he's above average?

edit: oh, and p.s., fuck Rex for continuing to (try to) diss Dion Lewis. Classic bully behavior -- of course he'll kiss the ass of stars, but he'll continue to try to get his small dick off by pretending to be above a guy who had a damn good game against him. Rex Ryan is the definition of a loser: schoolyard bully who is a weak baby at heart.

Just to add. If he's such a good freakin' head coach, why are his teams so undisciplined? That Bills team in the first half was beating itself just as fast as Tom Brady was beating them. He spent the entire week...Week 2 of 16...building his team up like this was the Super Bowl. Where does he go now? His team got destroyed for three quarters. In contrast, though I'm sure Belichick wanted nothing more than to stick up Rex's ass, he kept his team on an even keel, continuing the mantra that this is just another game.

Really, Rex is a joke. His team's have a very low ceiling and it's entirely on him. Too many emotional swings.

Oh, and, Tyrod Taylor is his QB.

Buffalo hasn't made the playoffs this century; Jacksonville has. It's gonna be -12 in Buffalo about a week and half from now; someone is in a bikini year-round in Jacksonville.

I think you've made a great point, and then missed it completely. ;-)
