I think there is one in MLB forum but there is usually one here.

Per Gammons on MLB Network Rays are going to move at least two pitchers and Chris Archer is available. Brantley surgery recovery more complicated and likely out till Aug forcing The INDIANS hand to move SP even more.

If you don't want to have to follow the accounts of all the insiders/writers or twitter or want the info sometimes faster than the folks at mlbtraderumors follow @jimvonhorn on twitter.

Archer would cost a metric ton and is in division but pairing him and Price at the top of the rotation would be pretty filthy.

Brantley plays for the Indians. I doubt his recovery from surgery will force the Rays' hand at all

But as the winter meetings got underway Sunday, sources say the Marlins were talking to the Los Angeles Dodgers -- and at least two other teams -- about potential blockbuster deals involving Fernandez.

Clubs that have spoken with the Marlins say they’ve put such a high price on Fernandez that any trade would be considered a long shot. An official of one club said the Marlins were asking for as many as five players in return for the 23-year-old right-hander. And another club executive said the Marlins were telling teams they would only consider moving Fernandez if the package in return made them better next season than they would be if they kept Fernandez, as well as putting several young players in place who could solidify their future.

"I am willing to trade Fernandez, but only if the trade is so one-sided that I have no choice."

Who could possibly resist such an enticing offer?

Not surprisingly, Miley and Kelly are drawing interest: Both have value, obvz... Miley's floor is established and predictable, Kelly's ceiling is enticing. If I'm the Sox, I bet on Kelly's ceiling and try to get a solid young prospect back on Miley.

If I'm the Sox I keep Miley and trade Kelly to the bullpen.

Seems so obvious but maybe that's just me.

With Price at the top and Clay, Porcello, ERod, and Kelly all being wild cards I'd rather keep the steady Miley and flip Kelly.

My phone died when I clicked on it but I got a push notification from mlb.com saying something like "Are Red Sox poised to make another bold move at winter meetings?"

It was by Ian Browne, but I can't find it now. I'm assuming it was click-bait.

Not MLB/Ian Browne, but the subject line and time lines up with this NESN article:
http://nesn.com/2015/12/red-sox-winter-meetings-2015-primer-is-boston-poised-for-more-moves/

And, yeah, at a quick glance, nothing significant in there.

P.S. Charge your phone :p

Who on the M's would we want?
Guys that will take a lot more than Miley or Buchholz to acquire.

The thing is with everyone concentrated in Nashville for the week, there are going to be constant rumors swirling about this team or that team in connection to the Red Sox. Anything that seems even remotely newsworthy is going to get tweeted out like it's the biggest thing going, and 98% of it is simply reporters taking any minor tidbit and throwing it at the twitter wall to see what sticks. We should be taking everything with a gigantic grain of salt.

Carson Smith and a prospect like Peterson? Furbush? I always had the M's as one of the few potential landing spots for Hanley. I want to hear his name as part of this rumor. I don't think a Miley/Buchholz trade is as much about value as it is about roster construction which fits the first DD trade.

I see your M's and Rangers, and raise you a Marlins. FA prices being what they are this could work out really well for the Red Sox

I'm having trouble believing that MIN or ATL would be in the market for a $5-6M reliever. And he's 32, if he signs a 3-4 year deal, this is his shot to make bank. I don't think he particularly will put a lot of emphasis on his usage (presuming that's what you meant by 'opportunity'). He will likely take the biggest offer.

I mean, I guess, but it seems kind of out of character for them, no? I guess finances aren't what they used to be so its not exactly splashing the pot, but it still seems very un-Minnesota-ish to go to the FA market for a high priced reliever. I don't doubt they are in the market for a LHR, I just doubt they are in the 4/$20+ market for a Sipp.

I hear ya, but it is sort of the Beane philosophy of "well, I can't afford Jayson Hayward or David Price, but I do have some money I can spend and I will spend it to improve here and here" like Beane did by signing Ryan Maden (he signed him recently right?)

Lots of smoke around Rays and Cubs working on a pitching for hitting swap. Rays targeting Baez, Cubs looking for a starter...maybe Cobb?

Rather than post a million Tweets from Marlins beat writer Joe Frisaro, I will summarize what he says about Jose Fernandez rumors.
--At least 12 teams have checked in with Marlins on Fernandez.
--Yankees were willing to include Severino, but the belief is they don't have enough even if they do include Bird.

Now Sherman is reporting Yanks never offered Severino. Seems to be a lot of misinformation out there on Fernandez

Dear Reporters,

People talk about stuff and willingness to move pieces all the time without making a formal offer. "We never offered" piece X does not contradict a report that says the team agreed to move piece X. You do this shit every single fucking time and all it does it muddy the waters for people who haven't gone through this before (and morons) and that is precisely the opposite of your job. Your job is to bring clarity. Don't tell me they didn't make an offer when you know damn well piece x is in the discussion. Seriously, please, just stop being stupid assholes about stuff and we'll be fine.

kthxbye

I was thinking the Dodgers. The Angels farm system is badly depleted and they need prospects. The Dodgers need pitching and they have prospects.
Another good guess -- he's from California so I'm sure he would love that.

Still, I wonder whether the Dodgers would target a back-end starter like Wilson -- beyond Kershaw they have Wood and McCarthy and a few other solid guys. They might rather add someone like Cueto.

It's almost like Tony LaRussa came in and decided that acquiring good players would result in more winning.

Never thought I'd write this, but Stewart is kicking Friedman's behind this winter, it seems. Of course, winning the winter will only take you so far. But if they're keeping AJ Pollock that's pretty good.
