Between here and everywhere.
If you think we as fans are erect right now, imagine being Tom Brady and realizing that your offense just added one of the most electric WR's in the game, Gronk (should be) healthy, and the defense who was already top 5 or 6 in the NFL has gotten significantly better over the last 48 hours.

Giselle isn't going to be able to walk straight for a week.

Holy shit. Helluva trade. Cooks is in the Brown/Welker/Edelman mold, only much faster and more explosive. He could be a monster in this offense.

Sign Butler and Hightower, call it an offseason. If a team wants to throw the moon at us to get Jimmy G, fine. If they don't, hold onto him as "Brady may actually be human after all" insurance.

So far, Pats are crushing this offseason. Crushing.

This is pretty astounding. Team still has to figure out what is going on with Hightower and Butler, now that they won't have the picks to potentially fill those spots through the draft (assuming no Jimmy G trade), but even with some replacement level scrubs replacing those guys, this team would be top-5 on paper, right?

Edit: The more I think about this offseason, the crazier it seems. Huge contract for a DB, trading first three picks for guys with only a year or two of control? This sure doesn't seem like what we would have considered 'The Patriots Way' as of last week. The team looks loaded as hell for next season, but it all seems a lot more 'win now' than we are used to from this organization. Almost feels like they have to know that they are trading Jimmy G to recoup some of the future value of rookie contracts at this point...

@PP_Rich_Hill

Best WR/TE red zone catch% past 5 yrs:
Welker: 74.1%
Brandin Cooks: 72.0%
Dwayne Allen: 71.9%
Amendola: 71.7%

Trade Ghost. Don't need him any more to kick no stinkin' field goals.

Wow!! Trader Bill is hard at work!

So Pats still have own 3rd. #96. NFL takes 118 and Pats get #132 back, correct?

Reflecting upon the whirlwind of activity at Patriot Place the last couple of days, I think we can surmise that BB felt as he was 5 weeks behind the competition he had to act quickly.

Important to remember that, as a team, the Pats are damn young, and thus draft picks aren't quite as important as other years when they were vet-heavy at many positions.

He's going to be an absolute beast.
I had forgotten that preseason game in which Cooks made every member of the 2016 Pats secondary look like a Pop Warner player. The double move that roasts both McCourty and Harmon - where he ends up with five yards of separation when all is said and done - is eye opening.

Since when does Bill ever make things this easy on himself? There's still plenty of time for BB to even the playing field a bit. He'll likely trade Butler still, at the very least.

As soon as Butler signs his RFA tender, Butler Watch is back on.

Schefter reported NO didn't want to pay $800k+ bonus on Monday. BB couldn't wait as Butler cannot be traded now.

Butler to NO to get that 1st rounder back?

The thing that floors me about all of this is these moves they've made over the past few days would be what I'd expect if they lost the Super Bowl, similar to when they lost the 2006 AFCCG and they said "Fuck this, let's go get Moss and Welker and burn the league to the ground", but they won the Super Bowl.

Unbelievable.

I'm just amazed at this organization; the rest of the league at this point must feel like France did in 1940.

I wonder if this move is driven by the Emmanuel Sanders experience. No need to try to get too cute--just go get your guy.

I can't wait for the definitive Bill Belichick book that will never be written.

espn: New Patriots WR Brandin Cooks is 1 of only 3 players to record at least 75 receptions, 1,000 receiving yards, and 8 receiving touchdowns in each of the last 2 seasons. The others are Odell Beckham Jr. and Antonio Brown.

I think the Patriots get 131, since 118 is now forfeited so everyone below that including the Pats move up 1.

Plus draft picks aren't as important when you can sign pro bowl CB's as undrafted free agents
