I think the booth should review that to check the time on the clock.  When Miller got went down, I thought there was 7 seconds on the clock.  Should have stopped immediately with the penalty.

Gotta give Vick a ton of credit there.  He looked a whole lot more composed and sure of himself running the two minute offense than probably 75% of the quarterbacks in the league this year, and most of them haven't been riding the pine for years like he has. Very impressive, for a douchebag.

Receiving the snap at the 8 yard line with 5 seconds left? I mean, I guess, but if he's tackled there, the game is probably over. You're probably going to score on a sneak anyway, and there's definitely enough time to call a timeout if it doesn't work out.

It's been said but that was a pretty shitty play call. His jump made it especially awkward but he didn't give up and got it in

Hey Pittsburgh, 2010 called, they want their wildcat back. Zing!!

I'm with Three10 on this one. We crapped all over the Steelers last week because again and again they kept the ball out of Le'Veon's hands in situations very much like this. They finally give it to him this week, and he rewards them with a W. Gutsy call.

Why would you call that play over a sneak?
Last week against Baltimore the Steelers twice let Vick try to make a play on 4th and short and they came up short both times...I have to imagine this weighed heavily in that decision.  Vick just told the sideline reporter that Big Ben made the play call.

Don't they usually say that the refs also keep track of time independently and they should notice something like that?  Or maybe I'm thinking of the other football.

No, the refs only keep the official time when there is a clock malfunction. I'm interested to see what the fallout is on this.

I'm sure it did, but the situations are different because of the clock factor. If Bell is tackled there, I think it's 50/50 the refs give Pitt the timeout with 1 second versus the game being over. I can't imagine the shitstorm that would have caused after the clock error. That penalty was also huge, as it allowed Pitt to run an extra play. It was the right call, though, and the right play by the defender, too.

@ProFootballTalk: NFL reportedly is declining comment on the 18-second clock error before the Steelers' final drive. #transparency

@ProFootballTalk: There's no way NFL can keep its head in the sand on this clock issue. That makes it 1000 times worse.

@SeifertESPN: Re-watching the ESPN broadcast, @miketirico says it appeared official trying to reset play clock before kickoff. Could have caused confusion

The NFL is run by bozos. Why not just say an error, very likely just an honest mistake, was made and is being looked in to?

How did nobody on the Steelers notice?

When I own an NFL team i now have to remember to hire one dude to memorize the rules and another to just stare at the clock.

@ProFootballTalk: Can you imagine the ruckus if this 18-second clock error had happened to the Steelers at Gillette Stadium?

Can't blame the Chargers fans too much. Would you show up if your team was doing everything possible to leave town?

Surprisingly, they had a great year in ticket sales:

A team official said Monday afternoon that the Chargers have sold 56,112 season tickets for the upcoming year. It is the most at this stage since 2008 when they reached the 60,500 mark.

Much like they do for the Raider game every year, Charger fans love to sell their tickets to visiting fans, like they did for the Pats last year and against the Steelers tonight.

Of course, I can't judge, we made 500% selling our tickets to Green Bay fans this year.

What were #60 and Danny Woodhead doing on this play, exactly?  #60 quit.  Woodhead was either engaging in some serious fake hustle or somehow couldn't figure out who had the ball.

The latter can be the general clock management guy so that your manager doesn't Andy Reid himself.

So I guess those same Steeler fans who circulated a petition wanting Vick off the team when they signed him are ready to build a statue for him now then.

He did the crime, he served his time and his debt to society.

I love dogs as much as anyone, but I'm not sure how you can hate Vick more than Roethlisberger.
