UVA at BYU - 3:30 on ESPN should also be a good one.  UVA's defense has been phenomenal so far this year against UCLA and Louisville, but this is their first road test.  If UVA can beat two ranked teams in a row after upsetting Louisville last week, they might have something this year and actually save Mike London's job.  BYU will certainly be looking for revenge after losing to UVA last year.

The K State kicker is having a career-ruining night. Just tough to bounce back from that kind of stuff.

Auburn's anti-kicker voodoo is strong.

That game was a complete shitshow.  Lots of huge blunders by Kansas State, and just a totally lackluster effort by Auburn on both lines and on special teams.  It was like watching 4 quarters worth of the first half of last year's Iron Bowl.  "I'm going to miss this open receiver!"  "Oh yeah, well, I'm going to turn this TD pass into an INT!"  "That's nothing, watch us drop this perfectly thrown bomb on 3rd and long." "Screw you guys, I'm going to shank this field goal that was cleverly disguised as an extra point!"  You would have never guessed that two teams with supposedly excellent offenses were playing each other out there tonight.

Auburn's defense sucked less than the offense did, but that was a truly sobering display.  Hopefully some lessons learned can be built on before the murderous LSU through UGA part of the schedule begins, otherwise it's going to be a 4-loss bloodbath.  There was also some bizarre offensive playcalling late in the game that had me questioning the sanity of the coaching staff, with Jeremy Johnson in the game to do nothing but stand (while looking extremely confused) at WR.  Bad line play will cause some odd playcalls, I get that, but that was a bit outside of even what I think is explainable due to that factor.

Marshall's pass on that fade route would have dropped into a bucket and not come out. Threw it in the perfect spot. I don't know if he's a great a passer all around, but that throw was gorgeous.

The play call there was beautiful as well.  In the third quarter, I turned to my wife and commented that it was weird that Kansas State hadn't figured out that Auburn runs a slant pass to Duke Williams for every big 3rd down pass play.  On that last 3rd down pass of the game, Williams faked the slant, then went deep behind the CB who bit hard on the slant, since Kansas State had obviously picked up on the same pattern.  Marshall made that pass and the game was over.  Nice call, and nice execution.

Holy shit.  With about 15 seconds left, in a driving rainstorm and USF leading 14-0, they decide to throw a pass on UCONN's 30 yard line, and it bounces up off the receivers hands due to the rain, right into a sprinting UCONN defender's hands, and he takes it 70 yards to the house.  Only question is whether he stayed in bounds.

They don't have a good enough view to overturn this.

Love the QB basically executing a slide tackle on the DB.

Holy shit.  While showing the replay, it's clear that the QB blatantly tried to slide tackle/trip the defensive back as he was running it back up the sideline.  No penalty called, and I've never seen a more blatant trip attempt in football ever.  Touchdown stands. 14-7.

Wow.  If it weren't for UConn's defense doing everything they can tonight, this one would look almost as bad as the Tampa Bay debacle last night.  They are down 17-7 with 4:18 to go, and as of now, UConn does not have a single 3rd down conversion.  USF has 16 first downs to UConn's 3.  UConn has not had a single offensive snap inside USF's side of the field.  UConn has 13 yards passing (gross.  If it were net, it would probably be about -20 yards passing) and 44 yards rushing. UConn has committed 8 penalties to USF's 4. USF has had the ball for 36 minutes to UConn's 20 (and that's going to continue to rise).

If not for a pick 6 by UConn with 6 seconds left in the first half, well, it still couldn't be worse for them offensively.

And I really like this freshman back for USF, Marlon Mack.  I posted a few weeks back when it  happened, but he went for 24 carries, 275 yards and 4td's in his first collegiate game against Western Carolina. Since then, he's had 34 carries for 124 yards against Maryland and NC State.  He's got 110 yards tonight on 30 carries and a td.  He could have an amazing career going forward.

And the announcers just said this could be the worst offensive game in UConn history.  I can't imagine one being worse.  Not sure which statistic they are using to quantify it, but I would guess "all."

Holy shit, and two players later, UConn marches 60 yards and scores a td.  Hahaha.

Very tough spot for UConn last night.  Terrible conditions to throw in anyway, but having only one QB and a shaky offensive line (to say the least).  QB already got nearly killed on an early pass attempt in their first possession.  What do you do?  One of the better receivers in football in Geremy Davis, but with that offensive line, in those conditions, against a pretty decent pass rush, with absolutely NO backup QB available at all.

Of course, the one possession they do decide to throw, they rip right down the field for the 32-yard TD to Davis.  I just think Diaco was worried that Whitmer would get killed and that would basically end the entire season right there.

No clue how they're going to handle this moving forward.  Never seen any situation like this.

You have to love the CBS afternoon start times where you are, huh?
Yeah.  Can watch it then go out.  Assuming I'm not doing my usual Fall Saturday routine of watching sports from noon until about 3am.  Damn I love college FB.

Silly touchdown run by Melvin Gordon for Wisconsin right before the half.  His fourth of the day against Bowling Green, and as the announcer said, every single one has been better than the one before it.  He's got about 180 yards rushing at halftime, but I don't expect we'll see much more of him in the second half because it's a blowout.

On his first carry of the second half, he just broke off a 69 yard td.  He's at 12 carries, 248 yards and 5td's.  Would be fun to see him keep playing to see what would happen.

If only Paul Johnson had a prepubescent crack in his voice, he'd be Mr. Haney from Green Acres. His vocal tone, accent and face are spot on.

Blake Sims has 297 yards passing with pretty much the entire second quarter left to play.  Could be a MONSTER day for him and Cooper.

Texas State could actually beat Illinois today.  Illinois is just not good and they are already down 14-6.  Meanwhile, Texas State has a running back by the name of Robert Lowe that can win games by himself if they give him the rock.  Guy averages about 6ypc for his career, but for some reason, they go away from him at times.  He's also a very dangerous receiver out of the backfield. Their sophomore QB, Tyler Jones is going to be a really good one too.  They played really well against Navy last week.  Keep an eye on that game, that early score isn't a fluke, IMO.

Might have been the latest late hit in the history of late hits by Florida there. Guy tackled Sims about 10 yards out of bounds.

This Fla - Bama game is sloppy. 5 turnovers all ready. Wow

Protip: Cover Amari Cooper. I dont think an overhead shot from the blimp would have showed a Gator defender on that long TD.

Yeah, it's like the Gators and Tide are both trying to cause cardiac problems for their fans.  Hopefully will settle down now.

UMass no longer hanging around against the Nittany Lions.  I think Penn State has 3 touchdowns in the last 6 minutes or something.  27-0, second quarter.

Amari Cooper: still awesome.

I mean pretty much first WR in draft ya? Montgomery at Stan and Coates at Aub, and Green-Beckham at Mizzou because he is built like a LB. Maybe one of the Baylor guys.

Indiana takes the lead over Missouri on a TD with :22 left in the game. Missouri gets one more play on an untimed down with :06 left from the Hoosier 48 -- after an Indiana timeout. It's on SECN.

EDIT - Ballgame. HUGE win for the Big Ten. Ugly loss for the SEC.

14-0, MSSU.

Just tuned this in before the Clem - FSU game to see LSU punting down 17-0.  Does MSSU look that good or LSU that bad?
