The Dirty Mo'
Gruden's a goober but he doesn't bother me nearly as much as a lot of other color guys.

Edit to add at least he gets half formed sentences out of his mouth. That's a challenge for most in his field.

yammer's favorite poster
lolllllllllllllllllllll leg whip on a quick out when peppers was going inside, followed by a near safety / hold / horrific pick ... the chiefs are like the NFL europe version of the browns

Poor us. And Rodgers likes inflated balls and Matthews is the most obvious PED abuser in the NFL. And all we have is all our SB rings.

If Bal or Ind played GB they would complain about hard counts and try to get them banned or at least be a dead ball penalty so there is no free play.

I was only pointing out that McCarthy is another in a string of hypocrites. Don't give a rat's patoot what other people think of the Patriots.

That there is an extreme lack of good analysts covering the NFL doesn't undermine his point about Chuckie.

In a multi-billion dollar industry, if nobody's any good isn't that an indication that the parameters for judging should probably be reevaluated? More simply - if you don't like any NFL analyst isn't that just as likely your fault as the people doing the hiring?

Did you see the little Steph Curry segment chuckle did?

I just find the constant over the to hyperbole grating and adds zero value to my viewing experience. But as I mentioned previously I think Collinsworth (again when talking about what's happening on the field, and not looking into Tommy's eyes) and Gannon do a good job.

Like asking someone what their favorite STD is.
Except a national football league announcer would make sure to call it a sexually transmitted disease.

Ha. Think I'd probably go with, "Yes?"
Well, let me restate. Yes to part one, and no to part two of the question. In all seriousness though, I thought about who the good analysts are. And I'm coming up blank. I'm sure that's all on me.

You (the viewer) are not going to like everything in the broadcast. It's also likely misguided to blame that segment on Gruden. ESPN is constantly pushing tie-ins during their broadcasts and cross promotional stuff is gold for programming folks.

This isn't the hill I'm willing to die on but 'commentator X sucks' is a pretty common theme on this message board and it just doesn't seem to add much. I'm also genuinely interested in what commentators people like.

Within the context of a game thread, I thought sjw's questions were salient if not fully formed. Do our expectations cloud our judgment? ..... Yes?

So tell us which analysts you find enlightening?
