Ladies and gentlemen. On Saturday, we begin a quest. A quest, seemingly unfathomable, yet unnavigated by few, if any. The entirety of the franchise would have the chance to tie Pittsburgh with the most rings by a single team, as would they would also join the Steelers as the only franchises to have a pair of back to back Super Bowl victories.

But alas, it's best not to get ahead of ourselves. Playtime is over. We have before us ordeals of the most grievous kind, once again. This between many long months of journalistic struggles and injury suffering. Our policy shall be to wage WAR, by ground, by air, by kick, by throw, with all our might. To wage WAR against the opposing 31, never surpassed by the likes of others, to leave them merely in an endless blackness of impending doom. THAT shall be our policy.

The trenches shall be entered. The victor shall remain, through a series of trials and tribulations. And it shall be us to show our pride, our glory. Our brain meeting our brawn. Once again, it's us against the world. But would you have it any other way? I sure wouldn't, and nor should you. From this, we succeed, advance. Join me, as we begin our war. No excuses, no quit, through the pain, be it emotional, physical, or some combination of the two. Purely 60 minutes on the battleground to want to make their asses quit.

    LET'S FUCKING GO!

This has been a boring week with the Bruins off and the Celtics with a decent break between games.

    Saturday needs to get here.

Between our gridiron war and baseball WAR, both leave quite a bit to be desired with respect to defensive interpretive qualities.

    Not optimal for the Titans

The Titans have been sitting in their plane on the tarmac in Nashville for over two hours. Not good, especially for the big guys with bad backs

Titans just took off from Nashville after delay of about three hours.

This is the only game my wife has gone to with me. We were dating in college and I couldn't find a single person to go. I had free tickets 2nd row behind the Pats bench at the 50 yard line. The other 15 people I asked wimped out due to the cold. Nothing like drinking a frozen beer by the time you got down to your seats. I've been to a ton of games over the last 20 years, but damn that one was freaking cold.

It's weird watching these videos now. It's still BB and Brady and the Pats, but we didn't even have HDTV, all these players are players from my childhood, but BB and TB are still there. Most of these players seem like a lifetime ago. Bethel Johnson? Steve McNair has been dead for 8 years!

I know pretty crazy. Really multiple different eras. 2001-2004. 2005-2007. 2008 was its own year. 2009-2010 was an era until the Moss trade. 2011-2013. The 2014 title team is like 85% turned over at this point.

Watching that video at 34:30 or so, the play by McGinist is awesome. "THEY KNEW THE PLAY" is what I love about the Pats. This wasn't Spygate bullshit, but Willie saw the play and knew instantly that it was a trick play and didn't even hesitate.

There was an article this morning but they've had like 33% turnover year over year, which is why they push the defending champs thing to the background. The turnover in the NFL is nuts.

Yeah I think 30% a year is fairly normal. A 30% attrition rate from 2014 to 2017 would give you an expected 18 players left out of 53. They have 17 active / 20 total.

At some point you said to yourself “I need to tell my friends on the internets this.”

I’m unsure of the steps involved in reaching that conclusion.

Taking one for the team. A very good and close friend of ours is a successful (as these things go) poet. He's doing a reading (with two others) at a place not far from our home. Starts at 730. The stuff is beyond me, but I have no question that going is the right thing.

"So how are you and your wife celebratin' the big day?"
