I sometimes don’t understand how there can be 15 coaches on an NFL sideline and they still decide to pass it on 3rd and 4th down from the 1 yard line with TJ Yates after gashing them running the ball. NFL teams use some bad bad process that just allows the stupid to take over

Especially on 4th down. If you run it and fail, at least you pin them on the half yard line. But when you pass with Yates, he will throw a pick and, thus, touchback.

What a ridiculous sequence on the goal line from the Texans. When you have a running game that is working and TJ Yates as QB, you absolutely have to throw it twice in a row from the one yard line.

Tirico mentions it's hard to win with negative passing yards, obviously so, been only done 15 times in league history. But the last to do so was actually Houston 11 years ago 12/3/06 at OAK, and then today's opposition, Pittsburgh, did it thrice from 1941-45 (only team to do so more than twice; all of theirs had no completions, 1941 had no attempts).

I think I’d rather be the 2 seed and face Jacksonville than the 1 seed and get Baltimore or LA.
Bal sucks. Look at exactly who they have beaten and who they have lost to

Do the same thing with the Chargers

Let’s not get carried away here...

Rather face the Jaguars than Ravens!? That’s silliness. Ravens are the team I most hope we get, Pats would kill them. KC concerns me a tad.

The Texans only threw 17 passes in a game in which they lost by 28, yet two of those were from the one-foot line while the game was still in doubt.

There’s nothing like rooting for a non-Patriots team to remind me how lucky we Pats fans are.
So many life lessons for the teenagers. Do your job. Don’t worry about stuff you can’t control. Be an assassin about the things you can control, and never, ever put your success or failure in the hands of a third party beating somebody else.

So fucking basic. So self evident. The teenager’s eyes still glaze over.

The Texans and browns are the 2 worst teams in the NFL right now with the giants close. Neither the Texans or browns were beating Pittsburgh, so the patriots have to do it themselves next week

Point differential standings, AFC:

1. Jacksonville, +154
2. New England, +142
3. Baltimore, +96
4. Kansas City, +73
5. Pittsburgh, +66

Maybe you prefer yours opponent-adjusted? Here's SRS:

1. New England, +8.7
2. Jacksonville, +7.5
3. Pittsburgh, +4.5
4. Baltimore, +4.2
5. Kansas City, +3.8

Or Weighted DVOA maybe?

1. Baltimore, +30.7%
2. New England, +25.1%
3. Jacksonville, +21.0%
4. Pittsburgh, +20.0%
5. LA Chargers, +10.1%

By most measures, Jacksonville is the most legit opponent we might face in the playoffs. I'm fine with not facing them till the AFCCG. But Baltimore is also easy to underrate, on par with or ahead of Pittsburgh in everything but wins.

While we're at it, NFC standings by SRS:

1. LA Rams, +11.7
2. Philadelphia, +11.1
3. New Orleans, +10.3
4. Minnesota, +9.1
5. Carolina, +4.8
6. Atlanta, +3.6
7. Seattle, +2.8

As someone (age 25) who has been around just long enough to remember basically all of the current Patriot dynasty, I can genuinely say it's impacted how I make it a point to learn, integrate the value of the team, doing one's job, and ultimately succeeding with customer interaction and reaching new eyeballs within my business. Belichick genuinely has changed my outlook and how I operate in the world of business, to say nothing of an intangible like leadership skills.

I said Baltimore because of the success and familiarity Harbaugh/Flacco have had against the Patriots.

They’re less likely to come into Gillette and shit their pants, whereas Bortles and a young Jax team may. See: last week vs SF.

I remember when Derek Carr looked like a dangerous QB. Those days are long gone, though

I loved this point from Don Banks: the last 3 QBs Jeff Fisher couldn’t win with - Jared Goff, Case Keenum, and Nick Foles - will all be starting playoff games, all possibly at home

We couldn’t have gotten Navarro Bowman from the Niners as a thrown in...in the Jimmy G trade? He’s better than Elandon Roberts.
Bowman had been cut more than a month before the trade. They also would not have taken Bowman at his Niners’ salary. In fact nobody would, which is why he was released.

Worst challenge ever.

More proof that most NFL coaches are just dumb.

Super dumb challenge. It could be because coaches think, "well, who knows?" Or it could just be Del Rio is a moron.

Raiders LB with one of the dumbest plays I’ve ever seen. DPI 7 Yards short of first down on an uncatchsble ball.

Gruden: "8 TDs already for Ertz..."

Well, dude the season is about over, so maybe drop the "already"?
