For the one millionth time... PUT A FUCKING CAMERA ON THE GOAL LINE

edit:  okay, they showed the high angle goal line camera and it proves it was a TD

But of course CBS keeps showing replays that don't show anything, and only showed the one relevant replay once.

Melvin Gordon is making a case for the Heisman.  In what is essentially the Big 10 West division championship game, he already has 234 yards rushing and there are still four minutes left in the second quarter.

He also has two fumbles, neither of which was from a brutal hit or anything

That was fucking terrible by Miss State.  If they were trying to draw Bama offsides on the 4th and 3, it doesn't work if you aren't under center for the last 10 seconds of the play clock.

edit:  okay, I guess they were planning on going for it.

I'm aware, but a 238-yard half against decent opposition is still damn impressive.  He's the whole offense -- they've attempted 9 passes for 33 yards.  He's already got runs of 42, 62, 39, and 44.

absolutley it's very impressive. But if he hadn't fumbled the game wouldn't be close, and he probably doesn't have to work so hard to help the Badgers catch up.

edit  For me, that he's done so much to bring them back is the impressive part. He probably feels awful about those fumbles

TCU stormed back for two quick touchdowns, but they're still not out of the woods yet, up 31-27.

Now that halftime's over, I can return to the watching Notre Dame commit football malpractice.

After getting called for a false start penalty, Gordon rips off another huge run, this time for 43.  He punches it in from the 1 on the next play.  Wisc now up 31-17.

This game might cost TCU a chanc at the title series even if they do pull out the win

Gordon just ripped off a 63 yarder followed by a 6 yard TD run. Now at 363 yards with 5:46 left in the 3rd

Another 68 yard run for Gordon.  Forget the school record.   He's at 369 yards now with 5 minutes to go.  The college football record of 409 or whatever is in play.  Fuck, 500 yards  is in play right now.

The FBS record is 406 by LaDanian Tomlinson.  The all-division record is 465.  The way he's going, with 20 minutes left, he's got a real shot at both.

The Jayhawks have four minutes to go ninety yards in Lawrence. They trail by four. They've been able to move the ball well all game, but have been undone by turnovers.

376 now.  Still 2:30 left in the third quarter.  I hope they don't pull him because the game is out of hand.  At least let him get the FBS record.

Boo at all these fakes to Gordon while other guys run it.  What fun is that?  I want the record!

Ok this is bonkers. I was thinking 238 at the half, "hey he has a shot at the record, but he'll slow up". But he totally has a shot now. Good god, I never thought I'd see someone get this close with a quarter plus to go

There it is.  A 26 yard TD gives him the FBS record.  He's at 408 now.

All I want right now is for Nebraska to somehow find a way to score quickly.  The game won't be in doubt, but a score or two might be a reason to keep Gordon in the game from a Badger perspective.  I want 500 yards so bad.

Also, Nebraska led this game 17-3 at one point in the second quarter.  Wisconsin has scored 49 consecutive points.

That was b/c of a couple of fumbles and an awful punt.  Once they cleaned up the mistakes the track meet was on just like last time.

I thought this was a funny stat, posted on the ESPN article about Gordon's amazing day - Wake Forest has played 10 games this season and has rushed 317 times for 341 yards.

Does Prescott ever audible?  Could have called a run to the right.  Instead he throws a 2nd brutal redzone pick of the day.  His Heisman chances are completely done.

Ole Miss because one of their losses was to LSU? I honestly have no idea.

Edit: already forgot A&M beat Auburn

Auburn.

First tiebreaker is H2H among the tied teams.

Bama would be 1-2, Auburn 2-1, Ole Miss 2-1, Miss St. 1-2.

So that would knock out Bama and Miss St.

Then you start over with just Auburn and Ole Miss, and Auburn wins that tiebreaker since they beat Ole Miss.  That Treadwell fumble is going to haunt Ole Miss fans for 50 years.
