Busy day at work so didn't have time for a longer write up, but I've been starting these threads on Tuesdays, so here we go:

Edit: Tried to post a bunch of pictures from the Snow Bowl game, couldn't make it happen on mobile. Will fix later.

Patriots carry the East, Raiders the West. I was naively thinking out of country games were televised nationwide, but not if they’re during the late afternoon slot. Who’s on the call? Not Eagle/Fouts I hope.

I know this is technically a "home" game for Oakland. But should we be expecting a 50/50 pro Pats crowd? Or does Mexico lean towards California teams?

Si. Actually, to my observation, Raiders and Cowboys have always been “it” for them, unless a lot of them have become front runners (Patriots) now.

Should be a very pro Raiders crowd. The Plata y Negro have worked very hard to market themselves to Both Mexican American and Mexican fans, so that should mean many laser beams in Brady’s face.

The most interesting part of this matchup is the totally opposite approaches to dealing with high altitude that the two teams are taking. The Pats are staying in Colorado Springs this week at over 7K MSL. The Raiders are staying in Oakland and not traveling until Saturday night, putting them in the altitude for about 20 hours (& 1 period of rest) prior to the game.

There are arguments for both approaches, it takes a full two weeks to totally acclimate, you don’t really see many AMS symptoms until at least 24 hours in, and some huge portion of acclimitaion occurs in the very first period of rest. That said, I wish the Raiders were staying in Tahoe or big bear this week.

Barring Mack dominating the Pats O-line, it seems very unlikely the Raiders #32 in dvoa pass defense will be able to slow down Brady and co's #1 in DVOA pass offense. Expecting a Pats blow out as long as they don't lose the turnover battle by 2.

Watch what you wish for: May get snowed in; expecting up to four feet of snow at Tahoe. Not sure if the Patriots and snow thing still hangs with the Raiders.o_O

This post is like Gronk shoving that Colts player out of bounds a few years ago. It’s definitely a personal foul but you have no problem with it because it’s a tone setter that pumps up your team. 15 yards nonetheless.

    Well played Sir!

I've heard the Pats are very popular in Mexico. It might not be so pro-Raiders as some expect.

This is, I believe, the first time this season the Pats will air in the NY metro area for a non-primetime game. Giants at 1, Jets on bye—yes please!

If I read that map correctly, the Chargers are blacked out in LA but not in San Diego. Hmmmm.

We're getting both, on Fox - that's what the brown color is supposed to indicate (happened last week, too). Not sure how they'll handle an overrun of the Rams/Vikes - last week when this happened the CBS outlet started the game on their affiliate, Channel 9.

I was shocked when I read what the Raiders are doing. I think they’re going to get torched.

It's 2017 and these are elite athletes, they surely have ways of mitigating the effect.

El Estadio Azteca has seen one of the best games in World Cup history (Italy4-3Germany), Pele score the first gol of a final game, Maradonás Mano de Dios and now the best QB and the best NFL team in history; not bad.

34-27 Pats with a late Raiders TD that makes it seem closer than it was

“@BenVolin: Marcus Cannon, Matt Slater and Chris Hogan are OUT for the Patriots vs. the Raiders, and so is C David Andrews, who came down with an illness on Thursday. Tough loss for the offensive line”

Karras will start and Croston will be active is my guess.

Smart money's on this. I guess calling up James Ferentz from the PS to back up is the only other option, but it's going to be Karras.

Does the practice squad travel with the team on a multi-week trip like this?
