I blame Brady for that one.
Unbelievable of how bad they have been today.
To be fair there certainly hasn't been satisfaction with their own team, so you need that sweet sweet porn from Nashville to rub one out.
I’m not sure it’s ‘unbelievable’ given the Detroit game, which was worse, but definitely unexpected and destructive to home field odds.
Coincidence. Trade had nothing to do with that.
I wonder if the Emperor Honorious, watching the Visigoths coming over the seventh hill, could truly realize that the Roman Empire was about to fall.
Sleepwalking through every road game feels a little unfixable.
That’s a shit performnace really in all three phases. It was fun starting game threads, someone else pick it up from here and take us to the playoffs.
Best thing for the Pats all day.
In what way was it not an FU from Vrabel? Not sure it matters the rooting interest of the person who made that observation. I am a huge Pats fan, and saw that as an FU play (the "Philly special to Mariotta).
Maybe Bill doesn't feel comfortable about beating teams with guys who are coaching that have worked for him or played for him.
Hey it’s the 10,000th time someone predicted the end of the Patriots Dynasty!
Clutch. Just when they needed it.
Really mystified by the non-playing of Dorsett. He was pretty good early in year; moved the chains, caught some TDs, and made some pretty clutch plays.
Guess no one told vrabel that teams defeating the pats are about to have gone 3-11 afterwards
What makes you think he calls offensive plays or, if he did ‘call’ it, he has some motive to show up the Pats in this game?
This is a big time yearning for HOT TAKES.
Stop. There are no thread police. But calling the game over in the first quarter/inning/period deserves to be called out, especially when you are allegedly a die-hard Boston sports fan (I am assuming all fans here consider themselves as such).
This game is over and the Patriots played like dogshit. You are entirely entitled to call them out for it here because its a fact. But quitters early in games can get called out for their defeatism too.
Edit: To be fair, the quitters were right today. They can go enjoy themselves now.
I don't disagree with that point, almost put as much in the post you quoted, but my problem is that of intent. That's absolutely a message intended to troll with no good intentions.
Tbf he has another great punt Slater just didn't get to.
There might be something to this. He was getting tired of hearing how he had such a horrible coaching tree.
Let Hoyer throw!
Absolutely no blocking effectiveness from the OL.
To paraphrase BB, you can only play and win with the players you have on the field, but man, Mason really sticks out as a material absence today.
Pats will likely be practicing in Pads on Thanksgiving and only allowed to eat K rations.
What kind of miserable person complains about miles on a car they got for Christmas?
At least it's not giving up 41 pts at home to the Bills bad.
That's a terrible mustache.
What is the point of that sneak?
GO FOR IT!
Bury the football and give the team a full week off. This is a team that looks gassed.
Non-competitive from literally the first play
Players more likely to get hurt on a punt?
No matter who called it or what their motive was, it was still effectively a huge FU.
a thorough and complete ass-kicking
Happy that the game thread also gets a bye week.
Don’t talk to me about o-line and other injuries, just don’t, when you see some of the other stuff going on in the League.
Only the 4th time in the Brady era a game this late has had 10 or fewer points: MNF clunker against Miami in 2006, Titans in 2002, Buffalo in 2014 (vanilla game, Brady barely played), 2015 (1/3/16) against the Dolphins where the gameplan was mysteriously vanilla against Big Dime all day.
Isn’t motive sort of key to that question?
Fuck it, this is stupid.
Yup - get rest and forget this one
JFC — by every account the Vrabel/BB relationship could not be better.
And if you assume it’s an FU, ask whether someone may be doing the Patriots a favor.
It was not a professional effort out there today - by anyone on our sideline.
The o-line was terrible and as much as I hate to say it, Brady sort of packed it in when he realized he was getting no protection. And Gilmore - uncharacteristically - couldn’t cover a corpse with a sheet today.
Not to me.
But do you REALLY believe there was no motive there to show them up? The exact same play with a mobile qb?
OL was terrible so Josh decided to keep calling fake reverses that took 2-3 seconds just to develop. Awful game plan against a Dean Pees D that you know is going to bring pressure and flood the short middle.
Interesting. I have no idea if Vrabel himself is involved in offensive play calls. So maybe I am wrong that it was an FU from Vrabel specifically. BUT, game situation did not dictate that type of play call. I have difficulty interpreting it as anything other than a response of sorts (an FU) to the Pats play involving Brady catching a pass from Jules. YMMV.
How much would we say the “Intel Factor” might have been at play today? You have Vrabel at HC, Butler, Ryan and Lewis. I’m not a conspiracy theorist and sure it’s been a while since Vrabel was suited up at Gillette ... but that’s a lot of guys with insight into how the Patriots operate. And it did seem at times that the Titans almost had the Pats playbook.
Sounds like Dion Lewis left on bad terms.
I’m going to look at this like the Red Sox getting swept at Tampa Bay in mid-late August this year, all scores lopsided. I hope...
Sounds like he’s an asshole to me.
