that is so stupid.
Burkhead is the anti-Kevin Faulk when it comes to making clutch third downs.
Come the fuck on
He did it, though.
Didn’t lead with the head, so no ejection.
Wow the NFL is so soft now
Hit too high. I think the problem there is it is called so inconsistently, but if they get you...they get you
Clock should be reset to 22, given the trickle down was post catch, so to speak
Such a stupid fucking rule. Harmon has to judge his gravitational fall to time the hit. 1 sec earlier it is a clear hit. Silly
That was the right call
Sis they call p.I? No sound
PF for hitting the helmet basically
You have to be kidding. That was a dirty play.
This would only be scary if it were Green bay
Too far away.
Here comes the heave
Win is a win bitches.
Oh yeah, what was that spread again?
Gronk out playing CF, awesome
gronk in for the tip
That was not Rodgers-esque.
Should never have been that nerve racking!
He ain’t no Aaron Rodgers!
Fuck you houston
My stream just switched games. Who does that?
I was surprised Watson didn’t try to get closer to the LOS, but it didn’t matter — he can’t theow it 60 yards in the air, evidently.
Very weird...one play left/ Come on.
Ugly W. But I’ll take it.
Dirty? You have to be kidding. It is a penalty. But he didn't spear him or anything dirty. He was coming in on a player who had jumped vertical. He aimed for his mid section but as Hopkins fell his shoulder head entered the target zone not the mid section. You are allowed to hit WR in the air, he just hit the wrong area.
Wins that give BB plenty to talk about on Monday are the best.
make them throw inbounds, no penalties, and it;s over.
also had the wind against him
Ugly second half; hurts to lose Hill who looked good but it's still a W.
Get a grip---it's fine to defend the penalty call (I did the same) but it is hardly 'dirty' by any knowledgeable description either.
I guess its a penalty under the confusing new rules, but no, not even a little dirty.
BOB is not a good game coach. Holy shit is he bad.
Relieved they won...
Romo and Nantz were incredibly annoying. Muted it with about 3 mins to go.
He deliberately went high at a receiver who was already in the air when he launched. It’s not Jack Tatum or Chuck Cecil level, in the sense he didn’t purposely hit the guy in the head with the crown of the helmet, but by 2018 standards, that’s a dirty play.
Tyrod being Tyrod.
Three fluke/unlikely turnovers kept the game close - very good effort on the defense and felt good about the offense, especially given how good the Houston defense was last year.
That's just not what happened, as others have alluded to...and I seriously doubt many (if any) will have the take you do on it.
Only real surprises were how horrible Watson was, and poor special team play (muff and kick off coverage / strategy)
Solid win by the Pats. Opening day, bunch of new guys, tough opponent. Plenty of mistakes and things to shore up, but a nice start to the season, the Hill injury notwithstanding.
It's a penalty. Not close to dirty. Many other penalties have been uncalled all day. What sucks is we have this being the only call for the new rule and it's at a pivotal end of game moment.
Brady after the game: Good to win but we gotta do a lot better than that.
That’s not a new rule — they didn’t call targeting. Hit to the head of a defenseless receiver has been 15 yards for several years.
