Should they send cops to Dwyane Wade's house?  You know, to check on his welfare.

The absolutely cherry on top of this entire sundae would be if Miami offered Wade something like 3/30 and told him to go pound sand otherwise.

Not if you're Dwyane Wade, he owes that man about $25M now.
Non-factor. Wade is still getting paid and now much more than he would have with LeBron and Bosh. Bron to Cleveland is a financial coup for both Bosh and Wade.

Wade probably gets a max deal to stay in Miami, since, well, they have to pay somebody to get to the cap floor.
There's no real punishment for failing to reach the floor. Sixers didn't hit it last year they just split up the difference between players on roster.

The Granite State
If Wade's gonna take a discount, he'd want Chicago to bite so he could go home.

I don't think there's any way Thibs would be interested in Dwyyyyyane unless it was cheap/cheaper/cheapest due to his physical limitations.

Can Chicago and/or New York offer him something he'd bite on to compete?
Chicago can assuming they don't get Melo.  He'd also be in a situation with Butler where he would be able to play even less minutes during the regular season.

Serious question, does Miami really feel like Wade is the best use of their cap space?  If Riley is honest with himself, I dont think thats an easy decision at all.

No, but they will give him a big deal to thank him for his service and all he's done etc and for opting out of his 20 a year deal to save face.

I really dont think Riley is that loyal, especially considering how spurned he probably feels by Lebron leaving, so I wouldnt be surprised if he took that out on Wade.

But as said above, they do need to hit the cap floor, and no one else who's any good is going there to play alongside no one.

There is no penalty for not reaching the cap floor but Wade is still going to be well taken care of by Riley and Arison. 4/$60m+ up to max.

where the darn libs live
I'm saying now that if Chicago doesn't get Melo, and Wade is still out there, he goes to Chicago.  Then he can pen an article for some shittier magazine than SI and talk about "coming home".  Then we get a nice LBJ vs Wade vs George rivalry in the Central.

Chicago makes sense to me, too. If I'm Wade there's no way I want to waste away in Miami now that my friends have left. I suppose big money could change that line of thinking, but why not roll the dice with Chicago for a two or three year deal?

If Wade goes to Chicago, the Bulls should probably just hire that German platelet doctor to deal with their backcourt.
