Sabres coming off a 5-1 loss to Colorado. And they lost two players to injury: Patrick Kaleta (no great loss) and d-man Tyler Myers.

Would be nice to pick up two points.

If that was GI the WPG goal should have been too. Awful.

Two pretty, pretty goals though. I want to make fuck with that Soderberg pass.

Something is wrong here when they can waive off the goal over that.

One of the most ridiculous calls I've ever seen.
The best part is how damn sure he was about it too. We need public shaming when calls like that are made.

And it's amazing what a pp can do when they move the puck around and don't just feed the point

At the game, not showing replays. How bad was the hit? Saw it out of the corner of my eye, looked pretty awful
Late, but not a head shot. To be honest I don't think it was worth a major. 2 for interference, maybe.

That's A bad hit. It was late, Gionta never had the puck, and it looked like he got the head first (but in conjunction with the shoulder).

Still a bad hit even if he didn't hit him in the head.

That was high, maybe not at the head, but no reason to get up that much on the guy. Had him lined up pretty well, coulda gone lower.

He hit him in the head. It was late. The hit sucked and he's an idiot for putting his team in a position to have to kill a major in a game they really have to win.

I think the problem was Gionta had to stretch for the puck and thus lowered his head. It's close. The hit was late, but the contact to the head is a bit iffy.

I do not think Bart meant to hit him that hard, but when Gionta lowered his head it made it 200% worse. He was defenseless and not even looking. Would be surprised at anything less than 5 games, maybe 3 on an appeal.

Pretty much agree with this. Hope Gionta is ok.

A lead after the first feels strange

Have to have 3 a period (under 14, under 10, under 6). Gets whacky when you have a lengthy block of special teams plays.
